94 sable shifter button broke

Two nights ago, I went to drive home from the grocery store and the button you push in to shift gears (automatic trans) popped out! I was able to hold the spring and broken button in place enough to drive home. But, when I tried to drive my car this morning, that didn't work and now I cannot shift into drive.

Is there a quick fix or something I can do myself? Or do I need to get towed to the mechanic to replace the whole stick shift (since it's not a screw on - it's all one piece)???

i have the same problem now , can anyone help
