:naughty: I have a 97 528. The speedometer and MPG gage have stopped working. I assume the sensor needs replaced......??

Also, the traction warning light and ABS warning light came on and stay on, occurred at the same time. Same sensor?

Anyone know if this is a doit yourselfer? Any advice?

Thanks a bunch :naughty:

Did you find out what your problem was.

99% of BMW speedometer issues are the connector at the aft face of the differential.

Cleaning and using a petroleum based grease to seal fixes them all.

On that model, the speed signal is generated by the right rear speed sensor. Read the fault codes to verify. Could have more than one bad sensor, but only the right rear drives the speedo
