1999 sl2-shift knob

Does anyone know how to remove the gear shift knob off of a 1999 sl2 with automatic transmission? I need to take the console out to change out the fuse block.

If you pull the shifter down into "2" and look at the front of it, you'll see a small slot. Inside is a clip which retains the shifter knob to the shaft. It prys out easily with a small blade screwdriver.

The shifter doesn't have to be removed to remove the center console. The console will pass over it without a problem with shifter in "2".

And for that matter, the instrument panel fuse block can be replaced without removing the console. The easily removeable console extensions at the front of the console should be the only thing necessary to remove.....
