transmission problem

We bought a 2000 Chevy Impala LS on Thursday, with the stipulation that they repair a minor transmission leak around the gasket. They repaired this leak on Friday afternoon. Saturday morning the third gear in gone. Should the dealer repair this, there is no warrenty. However there is a 12 month/ 12,000 mile warrenty on the work they did Friday, which included transmission service. The motor is a 3800. Do you have any suggestions for us. If they won't repair our transmission is this a legal problem. Any information would be helpful.

no you already had a problem before they changed the oil, so its not their problem. They have no legal issue to fix it. Dealer will rip you off don't go there, find a reputable 3rd party tranny shop to get a deal.

you need to check fluid level and smell, also can to look to see if any
electrical connectors are undone?

see all they did was fix the leak, they didn't open up the transmission or anything. There is no warranty for that sort of thing, they didn't rebuild it. Now before you got it replaced it could have leaked too much tranny fluid and started to ruin the hardparts and clutches in your transmission. Even though you got the leak fixed, the damage was done.
