I have a 2003 Impala and I changed the oil myself and dont know how to reset the change engine oil light on the dash so that it does not come on anymore. This car has the on board computer which runs through the diagnostics sheck when you first turn the car on so you can't reset it by pressing on the gas pedal a few times like on the older models.
Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you in advance, I much appreciate your help.

Try this. Turn the ignition on, do not start the car. Pump the gas pedal three times within 5 seconds till the change oil light starts to flash. You might have to do it a couple of times to reset the light.
Good Luck.

THanks for your advice but I've already tried that and it doesn't work with the on board computer because when you turn the key on the car runs through it's diagnostics automatically and changes the screen.

Thanks again!

All you have to do is read your owners manual and it will tell you how to reset it .

Go into the vehicle settings with the radio controls. With the key turned to ACC, hold DISP on the radio for about 6 seconds and it should go into settings mode. Press DISP until you see oil life in all caps, then use Prev. & Next to scroll to reset oil life mon., then push DISP again. you should here a beep and the display should read Done. Scroll to Exit and press DISP again.
