So what you are saying is that a baby that is born with no brain is not a human. Adam and Eve werent born like the rest of the world. They were created by God. So how does that make them not human now. That was one of the most ignorant and dumbest statements ive ever heard or seen somebody make.

Im sorry but If I belive in Jesus and know him as my lord and savior, theres no way that I can believe that Adam and Eve never existed. You cant pick and choose what you want to believe in the bible, you either have to accept the whole thing as truth or you can reject is like some of you as another book. Ive felt the presence of the holy spirit so I know in my heart that God is real and Jesus is coming back to rescue his church and trumpets will blast. When that day comes everyone will know that Jesus is coming back!

Have you ever read the bible? Those names are modern translations of the names of those particular men back then. Most of those men had Greek names. They were also not Jewish, as Jesus was. Almost the whole New Testament was written in Greek.

John= "Ioannes"
Mark = Markos
Luke = Loukas

Also- it was originally written in greek,huh?Didn't know that.So there was yet another layer of storytellers at work.Kinda like when people post up stories anecdotally about something they heard happened to a friend's cousin's cellmate.The original "story" gets a little different every time someone tells it and passes it on.Not real big on some aspects of "history",but during the crusades,the Spanish Inquisition(NOOOOOOBODY expects the SPANISH INQUISITION) and,oh darn,I'd imagine 4,716,522 other times when the bible has been used to further someone's agenda,it would seem that this perfect thing is pretty flexible when it comes to human interpretations.After all,ten guys could read the same passage and come up with ten different conclusions,no?

Nono, i meant.. we indeed cannot explain the beginning of the universe for sure before a certain point. But just because we can't doesnt mean we should just give up and say "God did it, no need to investigate further". I mean, back in the day, God did EVERYTHING, made the sun rise, made it set, put the tides in the ocean and the cracks in the earth. He shot lightning when he was angry and made it rain when he was appeased.

But..then we explained all that stuff with scientific fact. I'm not saying that there is no God. I personally have a slightly different view of a higher being, which i don't care to share, but until the existence of God is DISproven, i won't rule out the possibility.

No, you nitwit. The NEW TESTAMENT was originally written in Greek. Of couse it has been translated to a million different languages. What you're saying doesn't make sense.

In all seriousness I think the Bible is a good collection of stories/myths. Its kind of like Aesops fables( not sure of spelling), it teaches you stories and there are lessons to be learned. Religion has its good and bad sides. It does teach you how to be a better person which is very important, how to get along with your fellow man, but thats the extent of religion to me. I say "myths" because the Greeks had their "Gods" and we just call them myths now, will Christianity follow the same path? Who knows , just a thought. Bad side: religion is very restrictive , it does not allow for much individual thought on important philsophical questions/ ideas.

ok, even i'm tired of people posting scipture in here, look to say that oh it was translated so many times, there must be so many faults, how many books have been translated, um..... a hell of alot. when the diary of anne frank was first translated into lets say, french, then do u think that it was any different in french than in german or english, no, and it is idiotic for anyone to say so, but when someone says it about the bible, then it suddenly makes sense.

and i knew that noone would give you an answer about how all the matter got here in the first place, its common-place to find an aethist with no idea how it got here just to say, "as long as god didn't create it, the explination is good enough for me".

and finally, it would be immpossible to prove that god does or doesn't exist because he cannot be observed, i mean if you prove that the matter in the beggining came from somewhere else besides god, then it could be said that god caused it.
