Please Help Me!!!!

help me somebody. my 97 SL2 has died three times on the freeway. Evey once in a while it will make a loud whistly-scratchy noise for about 30 seconds at a time. Three times, i drove thirty miles one direction (taking the 2nd and 3rd busiest freeways in houston), and then either later that night or the next day i drove back. All three times on the way back it went putt putt, jerked with the putts, and died (twice in the exact same place). I'd stop, put it in park for a minute or two and then it'd go fine. I took it into the dealership to fix and they performed the 90,000 mile service on it checking and replacing all kinds of crap and it died again on the freeway, it didnt even make it as far this time as it did the first two. WHATS WRONG WITH MY CAR?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

If the RPM needle goes up and down with out control when this occurs, it might be that you need a new alternator. Since, it happen something similar to my sl 96

I'd check the fuel filter, that sounds like what it is. A bit of a pain in the ass with these cars becaouse the filter is in the gas tank but still a minor mechanical problem.
