i have the 96 caprice LT-1 the haynes manual has the fuel pressure rate at 41-47. at what point do i take my reading. when i first turn the key on? because when it powers up for that 2 seconds. it will show me 2 lbs. more then when the pump is done filling the rail. i have an adjustable pressure gage on the car.
secondly i replaced the stock 24lb injectors with accel 24lb. injectors and i'll tell you those stock injectors were impressive in comparision. there was nothing wrong with them. does it really matter what injector i have in here as long as they are the same rate. thanks

You should have 41-47 at idle. Nothing lower than 38 under load.
Some of my friends have had bad luck with the accel and bosch injectors. I would use the stock ones if the car is running better. Since they are the same size, it really does not matter which ones you use. A step up would be 30lb injectors. The SVO ones are popular; however, stick with 24 until you do heads and cam. The 24s are fine for a stock LT-1.
I have a 96 SS and the 94-96 B-Bodies are fun cars!
