I hate cops

Today my friends and I went street cruzing to see if we could get a one race in before the movies. After driving about 1hr i decided to challege my friend's somewhat supped up prelude. So we at a red and we went at it...He's a better driver than me so he won...then my civic, my other friends 97 accord and the prelude was at another red light.

As we all were ready to gun it, my friend in the accord looks back and gives me a weird look, so i aborted to go, but the prelude didnt know.
He sscreeched his tires and a cop comes speeding to catch him.

He didnt pull him over but followed him for an hour...

the cop just drove around following him around for like an hour? What a weirdo. He doesn't have any donut shops to go to? I guess your friend's lucky though he didn't get a ticket. He could've gotten one for squealing his tires.

This is not a law forum, if it was then people should respect the objective of the forum. But if you look at the title, it says Street/Track Racing stories. You are in the wrong forum if you want to talk about respecting the law.

I have no problem with properly organised racing.however when young kids are killing themselves and other people, putting innocent road users in the hospitals,in the wheelchairs,in the morgues,because peer pressure tells them that its cool to drive like an idiot,Its not just against the law,its against any measurable standard of decency.
Five years ago a friend was t-boned by a boy racer.She's in a wheelchair now.Her 8 year old daughter burned alive in the car.The jerk who did it was out in 3 years and has since had two convictions for driving while disqualified.YOU WONDER WHY I GET PISSED AT BOY RACERS?

about street racing....

I'm for it in only one kinda situation if the road your on is a highway and there aren't going to be any pedestrians or innocent victims around or there is light or no traffic. but if you could race at a track for pretty much free why not?

just because theyre street racing doesnt mean theyre being irresponsible. sure racing in the middle of traffic is stupid, but the vast majority of street races i go to are on a secluded road with a large groud of people, every entrance to the road is watched by a car of people with a walkie talkie or cell phone, and its very well organized. even the police know we do it but rarely break us up cuz they know were being safe, once we even had a cop come and sit and watch with us he didnt care and long as we werent putting ourselves or others in jeopardy. what im saying is u shouldnt be complaining about street racers u should be complaining about stupid racers. lets change the "keep it off the street" saying to "keep it safe and away from traffic, pedestrians, etc."

Glad you picked up on my point-first line of my post says I'm not against organised racing.My apologies if I have drawn other members into this thread.Reading another thread by b16b entitled"whoa,what happened",I got majorly pissed at his flippant description of an impromptu drag that ended very badly for innocent road users.He doesn't seem to realise that by participating in such irresponsible displays of immaturity,he is every bit as responsible for any deaths or injuries as the idiot in the other car.The 'God made shit 'line did what I wanted - it held his attention long enough to try and ram some sense into him.It was not intended for the many Honda owners who choose tocruise or race in a civilised manner.

The racers aren't the problem where I live (well, one, but I'll get to him in a second). It's the majority of the rest of the people on the road. This is a college town here, and we've got all these people driving that brand new porsche that daddy bought them, and thinking that 90 in a 35 is an acceptable speed.
One reason most racers here don't drive like idiots is, there's a track not 15 minutes away that has free nights all the time. This "I'm gonna go 65 in a 25 through the middle of downtown because it's cool" attitude is what gets people in to trouble and killed.
There is, however, one racer I know who shouldn't be allowed to drive. He's actually my roommate and good friend, but he's a total fucking idiot on the road. He races anything that moves and he goes 110 in a 70 zone weaving in and out of four lanes of traffic. I refuse to ride with him unless it's absolutely unavoidable.

I do feel bad for the innocent hurt, but no i dont think it is really my fault ....read all the other post in the street racing.....


It basically starts there is a red light and another car on a public road...

I can say it does put some ppl in danger when done while the streets are populated.....also when violating traffic laws like stop signs and red lights will do the same...but speed does not kill....


I am no fool....you are lucky you live in an area where you can just get a license and race on a track...there is no track mildly close to me...and if you feel so strongly on getting me to stop street racing why dont you send me money....

You think that i told that guy to go pass the red light I was breaking, but that guy decided my big shiny red taillights wasnt enough of a warning to stop....SHIT happens to dumbasses

So thats why i am still driving...... i have never been in an accident for all the year i have been racing whether it is street or track....if i can prevent myself from harming others i feel i have done my duty in everyones safety.

The options are there if you look for them.If there is no organised steet scene in your neighbourhood,pull a few of your buddies together and make it happen.There's plenty of tarseal out there that doesn't get huge amounts of civilian traffic.You can't beat the speed rush for sure but if you can't resist the urge to floor it every time some idiot revs up ,well.......


As to advising all street racers,I found your thread when browsing 'latest posts'. I didn't realise at the time that there was a street racing forum,there's no mention of of it the main directory.If you listed in the main forum directory instead of just with other Honda heads ,I'd be happy to take on all comers,all makes.Bottom line for me is putting Joe Public at risk is wrong,and anybody who participates in impromptu street drags without considering the potential consequences deserves all the attention from the law that they get.

1. We are all sorry for what happened to your friend and her daughter. It was a tragic occurance, unfortunately it has nothing to do with the topic of this post.

2. The original point you were trying to make, which I believe was in essence "Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.", was lost in the miriad of insults you started dishing out afterward. Basically turning this post into a giant pissing contest. Instead of responding in the manner in which you wished to be adressed, you yourself became the biggest offender. Also, before you start talking about everyone else's grammer and spelling you should check your own. It's organized not organised, and realize not realise, and civilized not civilised, and neighborhood not neighbourhood, and coloring not colouring. That's right I disected ALL of your posts, because if your going to act like your writing skills are above reproach, you should make sure they really are. Try using spell checker next time.

3. In several of your response's you lament on how you wish the other forum members would show a little maturity and not post if they don't have anything to contribute. Why? None of the posts you made (except for the sixth one) contributed anything. This was also the only post you made that, not being convoluted with insults, expressed your point with any clarity. And none of your post's displayed a maturity level greater than your fellow forum members. So if expressing your opinion while giving the finger to anyone who disagreed with you, in whatever manner, was your idea of maturity I'd say it was returned to you in spades.

4. You criticize everyone for street racing, and anyone who disagree's with you is an idiot, or a moron, or an imbecile. And you wonder why nobody will listen to you? Ever heard the expression 'You can attract more flies with honey, than with vinegar.'. Try changing your approach if you want to hold an audience in this forum. And don't try to tell me you don't care whether or not these kid's listen, because you wouldn't waste your time monitoring this forum and posting the perils of street racing if you weren't, in some way or another, trying to save them from themselves.

Bottom line, as you like to put it, most of the people in this forum know when and (more importantly) when not to street race. Nobody in this forum that has any brains is going to be heard saying that weaving in and out of traffic during rush hour at 100mph is a smart or cool thing to do. And if you had ever been a member of PH you would know this already, because people like that are quickly run out of the forum for being empty headed jacka$$'s. Nobody here wants to see anyone get hurt because of a street race gone wrong. That is why most of us do our street racing when the X factor is reduced to a minimum. So, eventhough I for one appreciate the fact that someone on this board is being vocal about making sure the other motorists on the road with us get consideration above all else when we're hitting the streets, you can't really expect the rest of the forum goer's to show any respect for you when you refuse to show any to them. Since it has to start somewhere maybe, being the older and mature fellow you profess to be, you should set an example and be the bigger man.

NOS is cheaper than a turbo rebuild so no one can afford all of it the turbo and NOS is very fun to watch. Especially on a WS6 driving down the slip road on 75 whoooping another V8 Pontiac. I was watching the World Rally Championships and a Ford or someone (sorry if thats wrong but) a car ran of the road and hit some spectators. In any form of racing a spectator assumes the risk he takes in watching it - ( if you look at your ICE hockey stub it says not resposible for injury) If you get hurt its your fault for standing there unless you're not a spectator and a passer by (in which case why are you there anyway) and get injured well suck nothings perfect.
