need help with missing prob

get to about 50 and the check eng light comes on and it starts to miss and i unplug the batt for about 20 min and it does it again any idies thanks

I have a similar problem with my light. It blinks after it feels that it's missing. but when i slow down it stays on and the engine sounds fine. Have you checked your distributor? I found that my wires have come off with out any force I will have to replace this item soon. It may be something else since that it is old and there are many problems arising everyday. well let me know if any thing changes for ya!

sorry but i forgot to tell you all that its an 96 3.8 l

Last night I went and took the neg term off the battery for about 30 min. then i reconnected it and turned it on. Well i forgot about my alarm and i just disconnected the alarm. My van started up with no CE light! Time will tell if it comes back on. If it does then it must be something else for me.
