I was just talking about this with some of my friends, and I am just curious to know how strong the members of AF are.
i.e. how much you bench, squat, pullups, run the mile in, etc.
BTW- I bench 180 and do 20 pullups. I run the mile in a mind blowing 8 minutes...lol

NFI about your yankee weights.
I leg press 400kg
I bench around 150kg max
BTW, it's often not the weight you can do but how well you do it and how long you hold each rep that will determine the speed and quality of your results.

Squat: 145 lb (66 kg)
Pullups: 3

Yeah, I'm weak sauce. :( I should give my balls to someone who will make better use of them. :headshake

A man walks into a bar and says "ok, whos the strongest man here?". A body builder type man stands up and says "ME", the man says"..ok, can you help me push my truck out of a ditch???"

I dunno been a while since I touched weights although I am stronger than I ever was I have really weak arms I mean I could break someones fist with my hand except I have really weak and girly arms haha. But if I were to guess how much I could bench it would be in the area of 110-120 which for my size is really really sad 6'3" 240, but I do have somewhat strong legs I could probably lift 400lbs or so. :(

AK - 108kg! You weigh HEAPS, even for your height. If it ain't muscle, what is it? I mean seriously, that puts your BMI at 30 which is obese! Dude - that is seriously bad for your heart/liver/kidneys etc.

I am only sixteen and play AAA hockey, I have hockey 5 or so times a week and if not on the ice I have intense dry-land training.
Push-ups= 100 w/ left arm under 60 seconds, then switch arms and another 100 w/ my right arm in under 60 seconds.
----> If trying real hard I can do about 120-170 full 2 armed push ups but in a steady pace.
Pull-ups= 70-110 depends on carbs, intake that day.
---->I guess thats not too bad for someone that just turned 16 3 weeks ago, weighs in at a whoping 134kg, and is about 5'9" or 5'10" ish!!!

Most of my chest is muscle my legs are somewhat defined I mean it's not all fat nor is it muscle but the only thing that is hurting me is my gut I've got a big gut. But yeah I do know all the major shit that does come along with this I mean earlier in the summer I weighed somewhat more than I do now since I cut back on eating carbs and fatty shit and yes unfortunately most all alcohol (dats what the cheeba is fo'). I've lost close to 15-or so lbs in a little over a month, and come winter when I start my new shift at my job it'll give me time to work out so I can get rid of the remainder of my gut.

I am 14, 183 cms (about 6 foot) and weigh 70kg.
I can bench press about 50kg (including bar), but last time I tried only did it 7 times.
I usually do 27kg on a standing curl.
And last time we did the test at school, I could run 1.8 kms in 8 minutes.

Back when I was playing Football, Rugby, and a Gym Rat:
Bench: 190-200lbs
Squat: 410lbs
Leg Press: 450lbs
All 3 sets of 10
Pull-ups: 4-5
40 in 5.5
6'2" 255lbs.
Now those numbers are all down and the weight is up I'm sure. :banghead:

I’m still 6’1” but down to 250 pounds. Though I’ve been back in the gym for a month now, I am nowhere near back to the strength I used to have because of a three year period I stopped going to the gym. I can still push 315 on the bench a few times, but it doesn’t look all that good. My goal (though delayed by a year) is to get back to weighing 215 while doing sets at 350 again. It’ll probably take the bulk of the winter, but it is fun.

Teh tangie is 5'9"/10" and about 150lbs. :o I can do absolutely nothing. I tried to help my brother last night lifting a bench bar with 90lbs on it.... WITH HIS HELP, I couldn't lift it higher than my stomach. :o I have fairly strong legs during skating season (which just started), but I don't leg-press, so I can't say how much I could actually do.

Oz... The BMI is a fairly inexact guide and you really need to do the caliper/skin fold test or some other more exact method to do body fat proportions to be make nothing more than a guess.
Depending on the physique of a person the BMI can be misleading... A BMI of 19 with a ethnic ectomorphic physique could be quite normal eg the very lean body shapes of East African middle distance runners but for someone with a Eastern European mesomorphic profile this would be very drastically underweight.
I'm just over 5'11'' and in the past two years I've had a mass as high as 90 kgs down to the a very stripped down version at 71kgs - and I'm currently at 76kgs.
And I can tell you at 90 kgs I probably had a very similar body fat proportion (maybe even less) as when I was down to 71kgs - as I modified my physique for the particular physical loadings I was putting my body through at the time... I probably was at the peak of my aerobic fitness at 90 kgs as well.
I was probably in my worse shape ever about 18 months ago when I was about 84kgs - when stress, injury and a number of other factors took their toll.
As you get older (and I'm a lot older than a lot of the forumites) it becomes progressively more difficult to dick around with your physical makeup but it can be done with the right level of training, time, diet and mental stamina...
My current target is to maintain a similar mass of 75kgs but work on endurance at the moment as opposed to PB's in strength to suit the demands I'm going to put the body through over summer - particularly with the mixed activity base including martial arts, scuba diving, cycling, squash and hiking.

replica is right. BMI varies depending on body type. I was born muscular and i used to be kinda heavy, but had no fat wutsoever. as of right now i weigh 135lbs, i havnt gained any weight in about a year.
btw- i forgot to include curling....i do 3 sets of 10-12 reps at 40 lbs. i dont leg press a lot of weight or do any squats (both due to basketball injuries), but i do 3 sets of 12-15 at about 230-250 lbs on the leg press.

Actually, if your BMI is high but you're muscular, its not bad on your support systems. When you work out your bones grow thicker along with your muscles, which provides greater support. Working out also strengthens joints. So being overly muscular, although scary, is a good thing.

Nah, all comp cyclists (who road race distance etc) should be able to do that. When I ride full on after a while the pain factor of working out vanishes from my legs, you just worry about lactic acid etc, until big hills and sprints of course. When Im in form I leg press shit loads and my muscles dont care, but get me to bench a water melon and I'll cry, he he. :iceslolan Im a pure climber when I race (I fractured my wrist this yr and it got, as all injuries do, complicated so only just back into training the last bit of this year) so my legs need to be able to be abused and stressed at high levels.

Well, Im about 5' 7", not sure my weight at the moment, though not too heavy, My leg press is about 800lbs(I do a bit of cycling myself, but Gavin you= teh ownage) I squat about 250 when Im not out of shape(as I have been recently) but am hoping to improve upon that. I bench somewhere around 180, but like I said, Im a bit out of shape.
EDIT: I did a 1000lb leg press today! I guess my legs arent as weak as I thought them to be :smokin:

Well my 600kg's is dependant upon which machine you use, the one yesterday I loaded it and was only pushing out 240kg's, so it depends...
