The only thing I don't really like about this car is the interior color. I would have gone dark with it instead of the light tan colors. The wheels are great, the paint is great, the HDF kit is great in my opinion.
Incidentally, I never got in on the final bid guesses earlier, but I predict this car will sell for approximately £250,000 more than the Blue #011, or right around £850,000. It's possible that the interest in this F1 will be much higher though, given it's unique configuration and claimed condition. I don't feel that it's as valuable as one of the 5 real customer LMs would be though. Either way, its too rich for my blood.

The estimate did say 500-600,000 pounds which means that if there is a reserve on the car its around 500,000 pounds. i agree about the interior it wouldnt be my first choice

i was guessing #073 cuz of the part that read "McLaren 073 wristwatch made specifically for this car," however i wasnt sure if they were really referring to #073 or just a type of watch that McLaren has made with the car...

To summarise the guessing of the final price so far then:
Peloton - £850,000
McLarenF1LM - £770,000-£830,000
mini magic - £740,000-£760,000
Me - £645,000
I think any new guesses should not span more than £20,000 to make things fairer.
BTW - you've all gone way to high, that top prize of self satisfaction is going to be all mine :naughty:

Actually no price ranges should be allowed. Everybody should just pick one price and stick with it. Whoever is closest wins. I'll take mini magics guess as £750,000 and MclarenF1LM's as £800,000. Good luck (your going to need it :iceslolan )

£740,000 -- my guess.
Here's how I came up with my guesstimate:
£640,000 Last car sold
£ 50,000 more for the LM engine
£ 5,000 for the watch, complete service records and history.
£ 10,000 for the tool kit and accessories.
£ 35,000 -- 5% premium since the economy has recovered a little...?!
This includes the buyer's premium that Christies charges (19.5%, I think), but not VAT, as the buyer may keep it on the Swiss registration or take it outside England.

Ok now the past few posts makes sense, its not like anyone is gonna be going over 200mph on public roads anyway.
Peloton25
11-13-2003, 03:18 PM
I've seen 170mph in the left seat and 196mph in the right seat of a modified 911 Turbo before. With cars that accelerate that quickly, it's easy to double or almost triple the speed limit for short bursts. I'm not condoning it, but it was quite an experience.
And yes, I know I'm going to hell for it. :evillol:

im taking a shot in the dark with this one....£800k even. i was about to guess somewhere areound £750k, but that just seemed too little for a car like this one. its pretty and powerful, on top of that its a McLaren.

Well in order for the car to reach such a high number, it's going to need the right buyers lined up who want the car. If there are just a few buyers, and some who might not fully appreciate the uniqueness of this F1, then I think the bidding may come in a lot lower. If it does, then someone will be a very lucky person.
I think there might just be enough advanced interest in this car for it to reach a high number. That's why I suggested the highest guess of anyone so far. We'll see in a few weeks if that proves to be true.

The reason i guessed a lower number was b/c this is the total opposite croud for this car, every other car is a classic(i htink). So thats why i think the car in gonna go for less.

i believe that the right buyers will show up. this is a McLaren, and a unique one at that. how many chances is one going to get to have possesion of such a car like this one?
the only question is, how much is the "right buyer" going to want to pay for it?

I just noticed on the christies website that the rest of the cars being auctioned off are not that much. Besides the f1 and another car. In the past christies usually has cars goin for multi million dollars. this is all total speculation but i dont htink the car will hit a exceptional price

Just to recap as two weeks to go approaches:
Peloton - £850,000
Stratoraptor - £800,000
McLarenF1LM - £800,000
Jomo - £750,000
mini magic - £750,000
tvrfreak - £740,000
TcarR - £645,000
I'm beginning to think that i went a bit low, but i really don't think it will get anywhere near £800k. Perhaps Stratoraptor and Jomo should lower or increase their guesses by £1 so that they are not the same as anyone elses. I'd recommend going lower :iceslolan .

You have to press and hold "Alt" while typing in those numbers. To learn more go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map. You can also go Start > Run > and type "charmap" to open it. It tells you the required Keystroke in the lower right corner.

I guess £700,000.
Good Luck to Jomo and his dad. Where do you live ? If your dad buy this one, you would receive it or go to se it ?

I live in the U.S. If we do purchase the car it will stay at the mclaren factory till we go there and make the changes that we want to be done. Once that it done it has to be shipped and fitted to make it legal. My dad talked to the person the modifies(spelling) the car to make it street legal and he said he can do a 98 model. So it will be a while before we see the car.

Stratoraptor - £790,000
Jomo - £760,000

JJ1 - £500,000
There's a range of £350,000 there, but you can ignore JJ1 as with a guess that low he is clearly mad. That means a range of £205,000. And also ignoring JJ1, the average guess is £747,000. So who will win our top prize of 1 weeks' free supply of self satisfaction? We'll find out sometime tomorrow (hopefully).

Thanks for the update. That's pretty interesting that it sold to the US, I wonder if the new owner is well known or already has another F1? Seeing as how the true LMs are all locked up, it would seem this car is one of the few opportunities to own a special McLaren F1 if someone were interested.
I'm sure we will know the new owner's name eventually. :naughty:
