RS/GS to GS-T

I searched yielding no results, perhaps I did it wrong, either way I'm looking to get a GS-T in about a week, but I'm wondering (For the sake of insurance) how much work is it to turn say an RS or GS into a Turbo? Can I just purchase a Turbo upgrade for instance and it will install directly or is it like the 90+ 300ZX N/a that has to have body parts cut and re-placed to make room for the intercooler?

if you dont tell ur insurance comp that you put a turbo on it then it would not go up, but if you got into a crash then ur turbo and all that is not covered, At lease it wasn't for me on my 99 gs with a turbo.

Oh, I already know that, I spoke with my agent and told her everything I wanted to do and she told me "It doesn't matter what you have on it, it's what the VIN show's, but if you have full coverage we only replace with stock parts." so I'm going to only get basic coverage, I just know that a RS or GS will be cheaper because they're worth less, I'm curious to know if I can get one of those and make it just as bad-ass as a GS-T with out body modification.

Ok, that helps, but just to inquire, I didn't see anyone ask this, couldn't I just swap in a 4G63T? Or does it not like to swap in there?

oh its been done but its a bitch... the money and time you spend on doin the swap, if you put that into the 420a you have now, you will have a really nice quick car, plus the swap would consist of a lot of refabrication to pretty much your whole front end! good luck, let me know if you have anymore questions...

I was trying to do the same thing with turbocharging my gs but I just said f*ck it and I am going to sell my gs and get a gsx. The cost of actually getting the turbo, the cost of installing it correctly, and the cost of getting all of the correct parts to work with it is just too much. It's too much of a risk, too much time, and too much $$$.:disappoin Goodbye gs.:sadwavey: So now I am selling the car, saving up, and using all of the money to get a gsx. I would recommend the same thing but it's your life.:grinyes:
