replacing a head gasket and checking head

Have 90 honda crx and have come to the conclusion that the head gasket needs to be replaced car smokes and runs hot, could someone advise how to replace head gasket and i was told something about checking the head which part would that be, would some one have pics of which part the head is and could someone walk me thru replacing the head gasket also is there any special tools neede like torque wrench and one other thing that i was advise is to change the timing belt if so would that be difficult,

yes you will need a torque wrench & true bar - or have the head inspected. you might as well change the t/belt, water pump, drive belts, thermostat, coolant, valve adjustment, plugs, etc. while its all apart.

If your head gasket is bad there is a reason usually caused by the head worping. So dont just expect to change the gasket and be ok, have the head checked so you dont have to do it again in a week. Espeically since it has been over-heating.
