Ok, thanks to the US army i will have some xtra spending money over the next 4 years, so i have some questions...
Where could i get a skyline leaglized? How much does it cost for a GT-T to get leaglized?
Skyline owners could u post a link or tell me where and how u went about gettign yur skylines, and the high preformenec parts for them. Could i get an estimate on som of yur guys insurance, will most cover skylines?
thanks

You can get your Skyline legalized at Motorex. Prices for legalization will vary, depending on what generation you have.
At first, Skylines could be insured as a "Special Edition Nissan 240SX," though I'm not sure if this is the case now.

u can get one from rbmotoring talk to Sean Morris. As far as insurance goes u can also have them do it as a stated value vehicle.

20 g's is going to be diffcult but not impossible. Don't for get about tax and title that could blow your 20 grand away.
Unless your going to be drag racing everyday you dont need and won't have a place to use that much power. There's alot of thing that you have to change as soon as you hit 600hp. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=133829
check this out it'll give you an idea of what it takes.

Don't forget that if you're planning on upgrading the turbos, you'll need to upgrade a lot of other parts such as injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, intake, downpipe, exhaust, computer, clutch, etc...
These parts are expensive for the skylines...

Did u look at that link? You have no Idea what your getting into with trying to get that much power. Did you include labor to install everything and what about head work? You should get the car first and then worry about eveyrthing else after that.
I'm getting ready to repaint the whole thing I'll have it back together and down at Cavalcade of Customs in January. Here's some old pic when I just got it.

Out of an RB25? That's probably a bit too much. Ken Nomura, a D1 driver, is pushing just under 500hp(crank, iirc) out of his R34 sedan's RB25. That's probably as high as you should go on one of those motors, even with a buildup.
You'll need an RB26 is you want 600-700whp, and RB26 means buying GT-R, unless you're willing to do a swap.

The answer to that is right here with my 'length of a piece of string' notes...
To be serious - it depends on what else is done to the car. ie: weight modifications, tyre sizes and type (street, semi-slick, slick). If you are looking at that sort of power with 'street' modifcations (no NOS, full interior and radial semi-slick but street legal tyres eg: Nitto) you could be looking at high 11's.
Also - very much depends on the driver.
Case in point - a friend owns an HKS built, RB26 powered R33-GTS. It puts out about 350rwkw (about 400rwhp) and he ran a 12-flat on balding Pirelli P-Zeros. Full interior, experienced driver - car is very 'daily' drivable.
With a bit more boost, and better tyres - mid 11's.
Set yourself a reasonable goal - and aim for that - say 12.5sec.
If you get there easily, and still have some change - go for 11.9 and so on.
But as they say - HP cost money. How fast can you afford to go?

i can afford, to spend $1200 monthly and $2000 this summer, plus the car will be paid by me and my dad, since im goin army he doesnt have to pay for college so he'll help me out with the car...
however, i talked to some of my super mega smart WRX guys over a quatum racing in ohio and they know their imports, alot of people are gettign GTRs and makin them a single turbo, and still getting massive whp, like in this months super street (do luck skyline) and turbo magazine's godzilla artical each have singel turbo GTRs running huge power, with minimal applications...
heres what me research has brought me too..
im lookin into a GTR or GTST
800cc injectors, pumps, rails
HKS trubo prob T series or another
oil cooler, intercooler, brembos
control arms, struts, sways
crank, cam, gears, con-rods, and pistons
btw thanks for the help mangs
those are pretty much all i want to upgrade, and over course sparco seats, and electronics and ECU tunning

No, you're not. The way it sounds, only GT-R would do. GT-R and GTS-T, totally different animals.

Motorex and RBMotoring sell GT-R's in the low 30's, already legalized.

700HP at the wheels - with stock turbos?
Bwaa-hahahaha
No. No. No.
Anyway - what do they consider 'heavy mods' if block internals are covered in the 'not-so-heavy' category?
Basically - the RB series engines are strong. With the right combination of breathing, forced induction - and with the backup of better internals, you can make big power from an RB25, and run it more than once.
Bottom line is - you have to decide what it is YOU want and what you can realistically acheive with your time/budget/resources. The 'specs' you have listed above is easily in the realm of $40k - on top of the car price. Is this doable?
Also - do you want to continue driving the car on the street? Big turbo = boost at much higher RPM, so yes you have power, but you don't have the responsiveness for more than 1/4mile applications. Let's not even get into putting that kind of power to the ground via street tyres... in the wet? Forget it.
My car is basically stock (exhaust, EBC) - and will run a low 12. With high-flowed stock turbos (steel impeller - allows higher boost) - say 11.9. That's plenty fast :)
Best of luck.
James

Ok this is the part of the thread that that I say, Stick with your "slowbaru's", get an evo, get a pinto, anything but a Skyline. You obviously have no concept of what you want, what you are saying, how to go about it, the can of worms you are opening, or where you are going or what you are talking about.
I could write a full list list on what would be needed to not only achieve but what you are wishing for. Honestly I can't be bothered.
This thread has run its course and should be a poster quote for noobs who think they have any concept of what is viablely achievable based on a pultry budget vs absolutely not a fucking idea how to go about it and what it will really cost in the long run.
