A good ol chevy for me. for mespepd in a truck just seems dumb. trucks where ment and designed for hualing stuff not racing! just dont make sence to me. and with any amount of money any car can kick ass. so its just the model i look at not the power
This truck huals, it hauls ass.

The GTO is far from a Grand Am with a different name. Get inside both and you'll see why. Meh offtopic...

I'd take the SRT-10 Ram of any of the sport trucks, though I would get a Hemi as a serious truck for my work horse.
Ill take one too :iceslolan

its a popularity factor. the lightning is seen everywhere alot more so than the srt10. but the 2 trucks ford and dodge are pretty even in my books

and the lightning has been around longer, ppl are familiar with it, part of the reason they say that the titon is not selling to well.

The SRT-10 is a monster. But as teh great John Colletti of Ford SVT said, something along teh lines of, "While your trying to dethrone our Lighting the GT-40 will reduce your Viper to something between a Gartner Snake and an Earthworm" Haha what a great quote, I love Dodge and Ford alike, but that guy has some big balls sayin that, Dodge better answer back soon.

The HEMI's are most definatly badass, the SRT-10 owns, and the Lightning is teh reigning king, the SS is like the latrine cleaner, heh, I wish I could have a lightning or an SRT-10 just to smoke cars, they think Mustangs have a lotta weight...Wait til they get smoked by a truck that weighs near 4k, then all they can do is run off in shame.

Damn! How I must have been in closet to miss this resurection.
The Go-Fast Truck Market heh...?
I have driven the SS, the SRT, and the Lightning...all 04's while
deciding on which. I was partial to the Lightnings already having
studied thier GEN II re-birth with the 99's, and then when they
slightly changed them with the 01's. (360 to 380HP), a few other
minor differences.
I've also had considerable seat time in the C5, 02 Viper GTS-the
New for 03+ SRT-Vipers, an the 03/04 Cobra's. Forced, N/A, what
ever? Each has it's own fun factor, just different ways to get there.
I thought that Chevys SS offering was a weak 3rd place entry to
begin with. The AWD is interesting as it does get off the line well,
but the extra cab weight and lack of HP, and it's body styling didn't
bode well for me.
The SRT was VERY interesting. 500ci V10 with 500 horses is the real
deal to say the least. Again it's subjective but the styling didn't WOW
me and the extra 500lbs or so made it feel heavy. Great for straight
line, but if I ever took the SRT to the track, it would need some
suspension upgrades. It just seems that the SRT was forced to some
degree. They've had the 8.0L 'Viper' engine for awhile now, and FORD
teased the market with the GEN I 93-95's L's, then came loaded for
Bear with the 99's to present. Dodge, you're a little late to the party.
The Lightning just felt...right. There's no other way to describe it. The
handling is WAY above the SRT and SS. And the 380 on the 01's and
up seem underated. I wasn't planning on buying NEW anyway, as I
was leaning Lightning from the get-go. But I thought if FORD set the
standard with the Lightning at a decent $34k msrp, and the competition
comes in with one less than stellar truck(the SS) at an almost $40k,
and then one straight-up competitor that's only slightly faster, but
again at $40k, the Lightning was still the way to go.
The GEN III Lightning will be an 06', and it's iffy for late 05', prolly Jan
06' at the earliest. I like the performance #'s(concept), and the
"SuperCooler" technology(that's been around btw), but the styling
left me a little unsettled.
...and to quote the wise prophet 'Forrest Gump"..."That's All I Gotta
Say About That"...

Seen a SS Silverado run at our local track this weekend (330 ft.). It's best time was 6.60 which is pretty respectable. A 96 or 97 (dont really know which, but its the body style right before the current) Mustang GT only ran a 6.62 so I thought the SS did really well, considering it weights almost 5000 lbs.

I voted for the Harley truck...particularly the 2001 jet black supercab model. If it had the supercharged 4.6 (sadly unavailable until '03) i'd drool all the more!
