im having problems with my idle in my hatch. i was sitting @ a light when my car started to "bog out" then all of a sudden my idle jumped to 2000rpm and now it wont come down. ive taken it to 4 shops and noone knows what is wrong. the oxygen sensor is fine, my throttle cable is fine, ive removed and cleaned my throttle body, my butterfly is not bent, and the spring recoils fine, but when i push on the butterfly it retards the rpm. what could it be??? :banghead: its really pissing me off. so should i just buy a new throttle body all together? how do i check for a leak that could be messing up my vaccuum?

1. make sure idle is set correctly & throttle cable not over-tight.
2. EACV - electronic air control valve
3. vacuum leak

www.helminc.com (http://www.helminc.com) or I'll post a site when I get home with many online repair manuals, I'm sure a B16 is on it . . .I don't know for sure.

got the edelbrock 65mm itr throttle body and my problem was solved. bad tps caused my idle to jump. all is good now and the car is a little more throaty with better throttle response. i like it and wouldnt mind the victor x intake manifold to match. :bigthumb: thanks for all the help!
