valve cover

i was wonderin if i take my valve cover off is there anything i need to replace b4 putting it back on? like a seal or summin?

There is a set of gaskets under it. It won't hurt anything to change them. They go around the edge and ring each spark plug tube.

well, you're supposed to buy a new valve cover gasket, but usually don't have to unless it's the original gasket or something.

I always put atv sealant, for high temps, on the surface, because the Haynes manual says to put it on. Unless the old gasket is messed up I wouldn't replace it, but if it looks old just go ahead and replace it.

silicone is a rig job. dont use that crap.
