I was gonna take her in for an oil change and maybe a tune-up, and want to have something intelligent to say to the mechanic about my transmission problem. I'm gonna have the tranny fluid changed, even though it looks clean.
I have an automatic twin cam engine, and it has trouble shifting into higher gears, as well as slips a bit shifting into reverse. It also slips a bit downshifting to first gear. Anyone know what could be causing this?

I had a somewhat similar problem. At first my mechanic thought it was a leaking valve body, causing low hydraulic pressure. However, it turned out it was something to do with a piece that made it not want to go into 2nd gear. $350 later it was good as new.
