I have a 2002 PT Dream Cruiser. The car is only a year old since I bought it. The rims leak, only 12 thousand miles on the car and the rims wont hold air!!! I have taken it to the dealer NUMEROUS times. They and Chryslers resoluion team have decided it is not a warranty item, why I don't know. They claim salt gets into the valve stem hole and makes them corrode. They are over 500 a piece at the dealer!!

They are telling me to jam it!!! What do I do??????? :banghead:

It should be a warranty item. One person had Goodyear pull off the tires and the inner part of the rim where the tire bead sits was flaking off. They took pictures and went back to the dealer with the proof and all 4 rims were replaced. Others have reported chrome blistering on their rims. Just FYI: American Racing is the OEM wheel manufacturer. If you noticed, the later models now come with Chrome Cladded (chromed plastic over steel) wheels instead of real chrome wheels because of the previous quality problems.

It is so frustrating because the DEALER has had the tires off these rims over 5 times. I talked to Chrysler and they said it is a WEAR item, which to me is ludicrous!

all's i have to say is that if you are going to pay out of pocket you can get some much nicer aftermarket rims for about half that price and they ook alot better. just my opinoin.

I bought a dream cruiser 2001, and it was loaded up with all kinds of aftermarket stuff right off the showroom floor. I have had numerous problems with it, however the biggest problem was an aftermarket grille that was plastic with chrom on it. It kept blistering. I complained to the dealer for over a year and kept getting the runaround. Finally i talked to a dealer rep and he told me that it was only covered for one year. I said good then you should have replaced it the first time I comlained which was during that one year. They finally gave in and said ok.....now the aftermarket company is outa business. I kept complaining loudly in the showroom...(they don't Like you to complain in the showroom)...I now have at least gotten a painted grille.
