I have a very odd problem...if i drive my car for a while and then turn it off and try to start it shortly after it either wont start...just cranks...or it will start and sounds like its only running on 2 cylinders..not sure if this is the case or its just missing real bad...but after just a few seconds its fine...it started with just the missing but now usually wont start...if i wait usually over an hour adn the car has cooled down its starts fine...
its not throwing any codes whatsoever..

Any Ideas?

Try troubleshooting the igniter and main relay. Both feed power to vital parts of the ignition and fuel injection system. Good luck. :smokin:

Don't bother with your ignitor, it's for sure your main relay.

the relay is pretty much brand new...and iv had main relay probs before...this is different...im starting to think its my injectors

why do you think it's your injectors? what other symptoms?

plkelley

well...the other day when it wouldnt start i held the gas down and it helped..still loped for a few but definetly helped get it started...

plus...if it was the main relay it wouldnt fire at all...if it was the ignitor it wouldnt fire on some cylinders and not others...and with either holding the gas down wouldnt help at all

i just cant figure out why if i let it cool down it starts but while warm it acts crazy...usually it would act funny during driving as well..so im thinking maybe an injector is sticking maybe...could be way off though..

please help

Do you have MPFI? Maybe your resistor box isn't working as good as it should and it's easy to check.

resistor box? where and what is it?

The resistor box is on the drivers side near the brake booster. It's aluminium with cooling fins. It lowers the power supplied to the injectors. I think it's supposed to spec out at 4-7 ohms.

You could also try a bottle of Techron by Chevron to try cleaning the injectors.

It could still be an electrical issue, if it works OK cold. You could have some parts contacting when it is cold, and then the heat from it running creates a short in a wire somewhere...once it cools off and the metal parts condense, things connect again.

So, no real ideas, just some more things to think about...checking all electrical connections and resistor box stuff, etc.. is a good idea.

You do try to keep a full tank of gas most of the time and you don't run the car low on fuel before you fill it up do you?

Look at all connections, try runing some injector cleaner.

i really don't think it's the injectors. i've had many injector issues...while it did drive me mad, i also got to know them.

here is a really easy way to know if you have a faulty injector. start the car. pull 1 injector at a time and replug. when you unplug the car should bog down. if you unplug and nothing happens...you have found your bastid.

check around the injectors and the fuel pressure regulator for gas leaking out

and finally...you can take off your intake mani and clean it out if it looks dirty and clogged like

but seriously, if an injector is bad it has been my experience that the car will run like ass 24/7...not after it heats up. a bad or dirty injector is faulty, period.

when i had a bad head gasket it would run good until it heated up. but i doubt thats your problem. you would be running thru coolant and over heating as well.

My crx had a similar problem awhile back. It wouldn't always start. It would take forever to start sometimes. It would die for no reason while driving, but start up again if I popped it. And it died all together after awhile. It ending up being the coil. But its going bad again. To fix the problem now....SWAP :iceslolan

This is the exact same thing that happened to me. I replaced the ignitor and also found a bad wire powering the dizzy. Checking the coil is easy if you have a multimeter. Check here for more info: http://www.binghamtonlife.com/manual/manual.htm

Lots of great info there.
