Hello all,

Just FYI, my 95 Impala SS was stolen two days ago so if you come across an unusually good deal you may want to make sure it's legit.

Location: Austin, TX (South)

Color: Black

Description: Faded bumpers and spoiler, all windows tinted, back window tint has some bubbling. The dash has sun damage (fading). Rear side panels have some body damage on both sides around the trunk. Driver seat has small tear closest to the door. Had about 87K miles

I'm pretty sure they broke the passenger side rear window to get in.

how did they steal it? I thought GM has a chip in the Impala's key to prevent this.

I dunno about the 95' but the 2001 and up had it where if you didn't use the key to start it, it wouldn't give the car gas. But I think it has something to do with the acuall "lock" in the ignition, and not a chip in the car.

But I know nothing about it, so I may be wrong.

hey,My name is djuan i am new here but also own an 96 Impala SS the
way they have been stealing them is by simply jotting down the VIN#
off peoples cars going to the dealership and saying that they have lost there keys but have there VIN# and the dealer can make them a brand new set just from the VIN in minutes.Another way could have been is if you had a relative who has drove the caror friend who has drove it before, they could have been mad at you and went had 1 made or got a hold of your spare set and came and took your car. With pass key thats the only way that car moves.
