It could be a number of things but i would start with the throw-out bearing it's probably shot. Also while you have the tranny out check the seals. If you have a shop do the work it will run about 250 to 400 depending on the area. If you have a shop do it you might as well replace the whole clutch while it's cracked open.

Its not the throw out bearing, its the input shaft bearing. Instead of rebuilding your current trans, just buy a rebuilt trans with warranty & install that. Most decent shop would open your transmission & replace all worn parts(expensive & have to wait for parts to be ordered after trans is open) - bearings, 2nd/3rd gear/synchros & anything else that needs replacing, aint worth the $$$$ IMO since you can get a rebuilt trans for cheap(around $300).

Bull,
LOVE this idea. And if I can find a rebuilt trans for around 300 w/ some warranty I will grab it in a second.
Wish me luck.
(my trans is starting to make more noise. shifts fine, but noise is progressively worse. NOT leaking fluid like i thought earlier. time to start looking)
