ok,
I have a 90 civic dx 4dr (it shows august 89 on door)
and am lookng into upgrading my gauge cluster to 1 with a tach.
I got 1 already from a 89 civic lx and the tach didnt work and it wasnt rounded like mine was.
Well i found two edm clusters with 155mph speedo and 9.5k redline tach
1 is from a 89 crx and has only two plugs on the back like my curent cluster but the other is from a 90 civic and has 3 plugsand a bunch of extra lights like "alb" and "gas", the 3rd is a small blue plug what is this plug for? will either of these work for me?

cant help you with the clusters you have, but if 4dr is the same size as hatchback just find a cluster from an si and it will plug right in i believe.

The ALB light is anti-lock brakes, it will not light up. The gas light won't work either, unless you install a fuel sender in your tank. You will need to get one from a 90-93 integra. The small blue plug is for the speedo.
If your car is an 89 and the cluster is a 90-91, you are going to have to re-wire it and figure out what wire does what. And try to get a wire schematic. only way to do it.

if you need a wiring schematic i know i've seen some of the admins post pieces from one, i have one for a crx i could dig up if you want or you could try your haynes manuel. lemme know if you need me to dig that up.

and y have people told me it works without the blue plug....

On your wireing setup the tach is a blue wire and it's on the far left side plug. It'll be the 1st, 2nd or 3rd wire i'm pretty sure. Make sure it's there and it's connected to your distributor in the correct place and it should work unless it's just lose. Push down on it when your sitting at an idel and then rev a lil and jiggle it. That's what the problem was with mine. lose wire believe it or not and I beat my brains out trying to figure out wtf it is. If you need a scamatic I made my own but I'm not sure about the lx cluster or whatever. Should be simliar cause it is on my 89 crx and my 91 civic dx. If u need more help holla. peace

it's for a crx but the wiring should be the same, it's official haven't had a chance to look at it myself but hope it helps.
