I have a 94 Marquis - great shape, all regular maintenance. Had a thorough tune up last year. Yesterday I pulled out of my driveway and the car starts bucking. I park the car in the driveway and borrow a friends. This morning, I start my car, and it seems like there is a problem with the gas flow??? The car starts, then dies out, sputtering. Occasionaly it may make a backfire sound. All parts that I can think of, fuel pump assembly, filter, sensors, etc. were replaced last year. Any suggestions on what I can try?

That sounds exactly like what my car was doing (except for the backfireing noises). It was the EGR valve and ports, which were all clogged up from years of the engine burning oil. It was caught by a computer diagnosis, so you might want to start there to make sure that is definately the problem, but like I said... almost exactly what mine was doing. You can see here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=140692
To effectively clean the ports on that engine, thoguh, you have to take off the air intake, throttle body, and plenum assembly. Then you are basically looking right into the EGR.

That was the exact problem. Of course, there were a couple of other valves that they said needing replacement, but now she rides like a dream. Thanks.

Fords have a bad problem with the throttle valve body causing this problem. You can buy stp throttle valve body cleaner and remove the air instake hose from the throttle body and clean it. If you take it to ford they will replace it or charge you a arm and leg to clean it.
