I just bought my daughter a 2000 SL1
but it does not have the keyless entry
and alarm system. Does anyone know
if this is an installable option? By me
of course.

Sure can as long as you have some idea about vehicle electronics. I would suggest looking at DEI (Viper, SIdewinder,Hornet, Python) units because they are the best. Not always the cheapest but the best. The Hornet is the only one you'll buy locally to be able to install yourself. DO not worry, all the brands are exactly the same thing, just different badging. Take a look at www.bulldogsecurity.com to look at the car's wiring. It isn't always the best source but will give you an idea what you need to do. DO NOT BUY THEIR STUFF. I would look at DEI,Crimestopper,CodeAlarm in that order.

I just purchased the Hornet car alarm/keyless entry and am very pleased with the results and highly recomend it. Its is not so sensitive every ricer will set it off as they drive by but sensitive enough to go off when needed.
