They both look great, can't wait to see them completed. One thing though, they both need new lines scribed into the fender. The lines just stop at the door, I'm sure the finished product would look 100% better if the fenders flowed with the lines of the doors and rear quarter pannel. My :2cents:

Well, you could cover up the lines already on the car with puddy. You have mastered that so this shouldn't be a problem.

EMAXX

But those lines are killer, and you don't want to lose the lines of a S15.

You gotta learn sooner or later. It would definitely make both kits look better...and if ya screw up a little, you can putty it back up and try again!

I dont want to have to putty the lines up....

What tools would i need to scribe a new line?

Thanks. :)

I agree with extending the body lines into the fender. And you're undertaking a pretty big project already, extending the character line shouldn't be a problem! However, I don't know if I'd use a scriber to do that particular job. I think I'd use a needle file or two or half dozen. If you get one with a curved tip, and a shallow curve to the sides, it would a lot easier to carve that line. A scriber is made to cut a very thin, straight line like around doors, hoods, trunks and the like. Check out this particular set (http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/tam/tam74046.htm) to see what I mean; the two on either end are what I'd use. (Of course, you can get similar shaped files from any manufacturer, they're all the same in the end, pretty much). I'd imagine these would be a lot easier to control considering the amount of material you'll be removing. Anyone else got any other ideas? That's just my humble opinion.

spoolin12

Well i got some files!

(In the picture it looks as if i have scribed too much but its just because i sanded some primer away)

I also have never seen that conversion! But Damn that looks hot! ....hmmm i have a spare Fujimi sil80....now all i need is a 240Z :D

I wouldnt be suprised if you see me working on this one soon too!

Thanks for the idea! :D

ratdat
11-08-2003, 03:34 PM
I think there would be a lot of chopping and fabrication in this one. On a 240Z the sides of the hood are straight right from the nose to the scuttle and on the Zed80 they've made it wider rearward of the headlight buckets and made the fender tops slimmer. That front bumper would probably have to be completely fabricated too.

Be awesome if you could do it though. It's make a nice partner for your current projects :iceslolan

Ok, well i sat down last night and scribed the sil80 and finaly got it right. So today i primed it! Now its ready for a nice coat of paint. I will let the primer dry for a week and then give it a coat of paint.

Here are the pics:

The porsche needs a few toch-ups but is looking good. I only gave it 2 light coats of primer seeing the car will be black any's.

man, ur primered cars look so nice already. my dodge attempts at it shouldn't even be mentioned... lol

That color looks good on almost anything, I did my Datsun 510 in that color and I love it! i think you should paint both the nissans this color, make them like...twins, kinda like the signal auto sileighties

I might do the 180sx with S15 front in Mica blue....or a nice blue colour (a bit darker than a stock R34 blue)

Still undecided though. :D
