2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS Coupe. 13,210 miles when I took possession. Perfect condition. All stock.

The reason I didn't get a WRX is because they weren't available in the U.S. until 2002.

Because the pre-WRX USDM 2.5RS came with a WRX hood anyway, I think they did it to differentiate it from the L model.
I have a '98 2.5RS in red but otherwise like Jay's and under the hood scoop is a blanking piece.
FYI, the rally cars run a front mount but still retain the hood scoop, it is blanked off underneath too.

I can't remember becuase It's been a while since I've worked on them - but do they have the accursed double over head cam engine? If so, you're for a real treat when attempting to replace sparkplugs.

To replace the two last two spark plugs (not sure which end of the engine they reside at), I heard that you had to remove the intake manifold!! What Toyota was thinking when they initiated that design for production, I'll never understand.

Let's just hope we don't see this again :grinno: ...that would suck, hopefully you bought an alarm and a hand gun :evillol:

You make it sound like a nightmare, it's not that difficult at all to replace the plugs.

Sunroof was standard on the 2.5RS coupe IIRC.

Have you measured the power yet? That's an awesome look; much cooler than the WRX. :)

To me, any car which requires you to get under it to change the sparkplugs, is a difficult car to change sparkplugs on. I liked Subarus better when they used pushrods (although when they came into the shop, I'd always joke: "Hmmmm, I think I see the problem here, there's a spare tire jammed in the engine!")

It's easier from beneath, unless you can stand the frustration of having to remove the windshield washer fluid resevoir and the air cleaner just to make getting at the sparkplugs easier. Besides, it's not a car - it's a Yugo.

Yep. When you have it up on the rack it's actually pretty easy, because you don't have to bother with moving the air-cleaner box, etc. out of the the way, but it's still a huge pain in the ass - getting the new ones in is even harder to do.
