91 STD -> Y8 swap -> converting to OBD1
I just bought the dist. from a 93 ex but I need the wiring harness for the motor. (I have the one from the ecu)
I need to know which motor harness will work. I was told that a DX harness can be modified to make it work.
But is there an easier way with this swap? Maybe the harness from the 93? or the 97? (motor is a 97 ex)
What will work and what is the easiest? Thanks!

easiest way IMO, 88-91 crx/civic si harness......just have to repin the ecu clip....alot easier than installin the obd harness.

repin the ecu plugs, change the distributor plugs, change the o2 sensor plug, and fuel injector plugs.

i want to know why you keep talking about getting a 92-95 harness? the whole point of the obd0 to obd1 harness is so you plug 1 side into the p28 ecu and the other side into your stock harness. this is what it should look like...

8 wires have tape on them. they are the ones to be extended. 4 go to the 4 wire o2 sensor, 1 is for check engine light, 1 is for knock sensor, 1 to vtec, and the last i forget. and thats it. no 92-95 stock harness needed. you would need that if you didn't have the obd0 to obd1 harness and you wanted to rewire 50 wires. which is no fun i hear.

Oh, Ok I see now! For some reason I thought I needed to use the stock harness from another motor to make it easier.
But I was still questioning if there was a major difference between the STD and DX harnesses?
