So I Have the chance of picking up a HONDA VX motor for 200$ bucks. The vehicle i would be putting it in is a 90 Hatch. Let me know if i should pick up this motor.I don't know JAck SQWAT about honda motors?Thanks Doug

would it be worth just to drive around.Not for performance? Does it have VTEC? I guess i should of put that in my first post HUH..-Doug

If that is the only option you have to make the car run then it might be worth it. I think that the VX came with the Vtec-E motor, which was 3 stage vtec for better fuel economy. I may be wrong, but that is what I think. They get great gas mileage, but have no balls at all.

the VX engine, a.k.a. D15Z1 does NOT have 3 stage VTEC. it doesnt even have any different cam profiles for VTEC.
VTEC-E is a system that runs in 12 valve mode under a set rpm, around 3000 or so, then after that point, it engages "VTEC", which is really just the 4th valve, making it run in normal 16 valve 1.5L SOHC mode.
