Easy, people have made emulators on computers for years. Emulator is a software program that runs roms(the games themselves). They have adapted these emulators to work on XBOX.

Is it legal, I have the mod chip for my PS2 but is this some shady business that your speaking of and how easy is it to come by?

What part the mod-chips or the emulator part?

i diffently agree! I HATE THE GAME CUBE!! ps2 is the best way to go! xbox is way over rated and isnt even that good.. the only good things they have is : built in memory(real nice) and the ghost recon and mech warriors games are bad! also the best game they have is HALO!! and i have beaten that 2 times so they aint got shit on PS2

hey take it easy on GameCube. I own one and the only thing keeping it back is crappy games. the graphics capablilites are more then twice that of the PS2. thank god. the graphics on GTA just plain suck. but no one cares about that becasue that game rocks. i have PS2 w/ Vice City and Gran Turismo 3. GT3's graphics are very good. imagine if you put the GTA series and the GT series on GameCube. It would be exceptional.
heres some stats to munch on:

GameCube:
485mHz(does not accept regular CD's; a major disadvantage. However, the GC discs can hold more data then a CD, also, pretty bad games.)

PS2:
233mHz (makes up with CD/DVD player and Dolby sound, plus an arsenal of great games)

Xbox:
733MhZ (doesnt use to full potential however, decent games)

Some people are mislead by the graphics stats of these systems. Remember this: GC was tested with all functions turn ON and turned to HIGH. PS2 and Xbox were tested with all funtions turned off and to low. by functions i mean mipmap, aliasing, shadows, lighting effects, etc.

Here is my list:
1. PS2 (Value Value Value)
2. Xbox (performance)
3. GC (until it comes out with some games, its going to be at the bottom)

GameCube- good sytstem although, games SUCK

Xbox- good graphics, could be better with the speed it has, also good games, but a major disadvantage is that the thing is HUGE, even the controllers are HUGE

PS2- best well rounded system out, great games, good graphics and speed, good size, and i love the cd/dvd factor

Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Zelda, Smash Bros, Resident Evil Zero, Eternal Darkness, are great games! Gamecube is a fine system.


This thread has been up a while, so I think a new poll needs to be done. Dreamcast is just a dream now. X-Box now has solid library of games for owners to select from.

I have spoken with some people who have bias towards the PS2 just based on Microsoft building the X-box. If you ignore politics and focus on the systems, X-box is better in almost every category. Microsoft should continue to work on the controller. The S controller is better then the first controller they offered, but the PS2 controller is better.

Unless you are wealthy and buy a new game every few days, there is plenty of titles for all systems. Sometimes bigger selection just means there are more bad games to buy. Broad band is another issue where the PS2 is better. It is nice you can still a phone line to get hooked up. For poor folk like me, I don't have broad band. This means I can only play X-box live at work.

The PS2 has been out longer and developers are maxing out the PS2 abilities. I believe the X-box developers have not maxed the system out yet. Before 2003 is over, I expect the X-box to be a more obvious choice for best system on the market.

If you own a PS2, get a X-box next. If you own nothing, get a X-box first. If you want to have a life, save your money for going out. :D

XBOX is the strongest system out and has great games, Halo, Brute Force, Unreal Turnament, DOA 3, and is coming out with more great games, Streets of LA and more. Cheaper than a PS2.

PS2 is the best system out right now with the best games and all around features, but the most expensive.

Gamecube is a good system also, because they are coming out with some really cool games pretty soon.

I am not sure how being first in any wave of next generation game consoles makes a consoel the best. Pong should rule the world based on that idea. ;)

For most people, the Xbox and PS2 offer more games then they could ever buy. PS2 games have ome a long way. The new version of the PS2 may give it some new appeal. I can't imagine to many of the current PS2 owners will buy the new version fo the PS2. I take the new PS2 as a sign they are feeling the heat from Xbox.

I can't wait until 2005 when the new wave of next gen consoles hit the market. To bad Sony has pushed the PS3 back to 2006.

i really really don't like ps2. my brother went through 3 of them already. they always break. and now the lazer inside bent AGAIN on his 3rd one and everytime you go to play a game it skips. 3 thats like $500 of wasted platic. do u know what you can buy for $500. o and you go to take it back and there like no we can't do that because u didn't pay $50 when u bought it in the first place for the warrenty:eek7: . why my brother just didn't buy the warrenty by the 2nd or even 3rd time is beyond me. but my point is ps2 sucks, but x-box is ok, gamecube is ok, dreamcast i never really played.

From what I have been hearing from a few sources, the PS2 should not be used vetrically. If you want to make your PS2 you should use it sitting in the horizontal position.

Some people speculate that Sony had designed the PS2 to last only two years. I would not think Sony would do that on purpose. I have owned my PS2 for over two years and it is fine.
