cavalier vs. imports kill stories POST EM!

finally got a chance to race someone, but it wasnt off the line. BMW 325, we were bothing doing about 50 when we started racing, it was dead even till about 95-100MPH when we had to slow down for a read light, i think i would have taken it off the line.

I have a 2000 z24 cavalier with cold air intake and exhuast and i've only raced a couple of times (kinda getting bored of it) i've beat my friends integra GSR 3 times. i beat a v-6 mustang with intake and flow master 40's and i've beat a 1998 civic si (those blue ones you see everywhere) an older prelude and a newer non v-tec prelude.

With my 1993 Z24 Modifyied 3.1 5 speed, I smoked a 2001 Neon R/T stick, 1.6 Acura EL stick, Civics are a joke, 1998 Prelude stick, And a 1996 Eagle Taylon TSI stick couldn't beat me! It was pretty close tho.

Well I raced this BIG farm tractor one night(one of those dually ones), it was close but I beat it, I think he had like 100 shot of NOS or something and must have had a turbo, it was pretty quick.

I'm having a hard time laughing at a lot of these posts, first off fighting about your cars on the internet is pointless so save us the drama and knock it off.

2nd off, I would have loved to have seen some of these races you all talk about with your 2.2L 200x model cavy's.

I was going to buy one of those but thought to myself why waste the time and money on a newer car with a small ass engine?

Anyways to make this shorter so yall don't have to read a novel, I'll tell you what I drive, what's under the hood and what I've beaten (straight to the point so to speak)

1991 Cavalier Z24 3.1L 5-speed modified out the ass (234 HP at the wheels - 434 HP with NOS)

1) 62mm Throttle Body - The diameter of the TB is 62 mm right through with a 62 mm diameter CNC throttle plate.
2) Ported and polished heads with three angle valve job, new valves and harder valve springs providing up to 25% more air flow.
3) Ported upper and lower intake manifolds (provides 18% more air flow and is match ported to the 62 mm TB and ported heads.
4)Vortech Supercharger, all brackets and oil lines, belt and pulleys, ECU programming, adjustable blow-off valve, FMU, induction piping and K&N Cone Filter.
5)Polyurethane upper & lower engine mount (preventing engine movement, recovering 20 ft/lbs torque)
6)DIS ignition system with individual MSD performance coils, AC Delco performance wires and rapidfire spark plugs.
7) RSM High Friction Clutch Kit
8) NOS Nitrous Kit (250 psi)

Yeah most of the cavalier owners are pretty proud of they're work...it's kind of a different path then all of the "import tuners"....unfortunately i have killed a couple of cavvys in my day but i like them.........by the way *ahem 2003 corvette w/vortech supecharger, ported and polished, heads, n20 100shot, and full exhaust=568hp

it depends, i was at the the track on wednesday, and a few cars were running 160s and they were about 8.3

man your engine must have crappy bottom end if you're only running 10s or 11s with that kind of trap speed....i mean there must be some serious lack of torque

there is no way that a basically stock cavalier only lost by half a car length against a turbo talon. i have headers cold air intake full 2 and a quarter exhaust and a full stereo and a turbo which was supposedly stock walked all over me. i dont think your z24 would have been that much different. i could be wrong though. and the talon i raced might not have been stock. nothing against cavy's though. i smoke so many imports it isnt even funny. oh wait yeah it is lol

Anyone else try to race a Stratus R/T? I know they aren't an import, but they are a serious challenge. I tried in the wet and just spun one tire (I need an LSD bad)for a short time. I had him off the line, but he pulled on me so bad.

I've race a few civics and easily taken them. Also raced a tempo (at) which was damn easy. Haven't raced much other than econo boxes though.
stratus R/T is almost an import it has a rice burning motor

I've wasted my friend in his 96 Honda Accord. And my other friend in her neon, and another friend in his Mitsubishi Mirage. I dont really race anyone unless I know I can win. Camaros, Mustangs, Firebirds i don't try, because it's embarassing when I try to race them

shit...the only things that I HAVENT beaten was a turbo'd gti and a lowered excursion. He had a different turbo on than factory, straight piped it, all new internals, and a bunch of shit. He even stripped the interior and customized it. He fucking raped me!!!!!! (2.4 99 z24)

Now Ive beaten integras, other z24s, sunfires, every fucking civic out there, eclipses old and new, a turboed jetta (dude couldnt shift worth a shit) Damn...my buddie's miata (modded) <this surprised me actually>, lancers, a del sol. yeah well the other day this dodge viper revved at me at the line and i was like no way man, ill kill you. But then he did this huge burn out, so i let him get like 5 cars on me then i punched it and by 250MPH i had him by like 10 bus lengths. Then the guy came up to me and was like, man your car is so fast and furious i want. He offered to trade me cars, but i was like, for that piece of shit? no way, then i did this huge burn out that made so much smoke nasa saw it from space and thought someone fired off a nuclear bomb.

Imports Are A Joke

hey man, just because you are a cavy fan boy, doesn't mean that all other cars are piles of junk.
Every person that owns an import would say the same thing about cavaliers.

Personally, I want an acura RSX... or a Lexus IS300.

Now those are cars that come STOCK already kick ass... and only get better when mods are added.
I'm going to keep this cavy i have now for about a year, then trade it in and get one of the aforementioned "imports".

I murderd my old roommates 2001 focus with an intake and full cat exshaust- i beat my friends V6 mustang completly stock (hes also a crapy driver)--and alls i have is a cold air intake, and a 10 speaker sound system to weight me down.

well i have a new ''kill story'', i was driving home last week, down the interstate (I-81) from work and this little red neon w/muffler&gauges on the a-piller,and all that shit, pulls beside me @ 65mph &drops the car into 3rd and tries to pull on me, but ''im stuck'' because i have my 6-week old son in the car,and smokin that lil neon isnt worth that to me... but anyway...so i was on my home today,same place, and look in my rearveiw and who do i see on my ass,haha that same car. i let him play with me for about 2 miles and when he tried to finnally pass me, i dropped to 4th,rolled about 6 car lengths infront of him,grabbed 5th and left that fucker looking stupid. i know this isnt the best car to say you beat w/a z24, but it was worth my wait to embarrass this guy,..... i hav a few more kills but i think ive said enough for right now....

i raced some civic hath a while ago i kicked his ass, he said he had an si swap and some other stuff. the funny thing is the next day at school his friend said the only reason he lost is cause he didnt have his vtec hooked up.(me shakes head) i havent been able to drive/race for awhile cause my tranny blew apart all over the road :cwm27: but i get it back today so i'll have some newer stories to post.

Cavalier vs non import but still a sweet kill.

After work a co-worker has a 6 cylinder stock automatic 4th generation Camaro. I have a stock 99 Cavalier coupe 5 speed manual with the 2.2l engine. We measured off 1/4 mile and we lined up. I gave the 3 honk signal to start and he smashed his gas, and spun the tires, I let my clutch out gradually and took off with a laugh like i was taking off from a stpo sign, by the time he got moving i had 3 car lengths on him. He came up on me at around 45 mph, at around 55 we were nose to nose I shifted into 4th and pulled away a little bit, then left it in 4th for the rest of the race. By the finish of the race I had him beat easy. His nose was even with my door handle.

How is that for a kill? I talked to him after th race he had his gas pedal on the floor the whole time.

I am still skeptical after you tellin me that the other night.... somthing isn't right... either he sucks, or its a pile..
