Well, finally got out to see it yesterday... Let me know what you think. Not too bad for being free! Meant to write down the vin so I could figure out what year it is, but I forgot. Anyways, it's either a 86 or an 87, and it's badged as an Si. It's got 170k on the clock. Engine overheats pretty bad I guess, so I'll have to fix that.

I'm not sure myself... I was hoping someone could tell me. I couldn't find the stamp on the block, but it does say 12 valve on the valve cover, so maybe you're right?

That's what I thought too, but it's got the Si badge on the back, and I couldn't find the stamp on the block, but I dunno...

Anyways, it should be a fun project. Really didn't want a 1st gen, but oh well... Haven't quite decided what I'm going to do with it. I'm thinking that when I swap the d16y8 into my hatch, maybe I can swap my d16a6 into the rex? I don't know if it'll fit easily or not, or how much work is involved... If I can't do that, I'll probably just fix it up a bit and sell it...

It's not an easy swap, 'cause it's not a direct bolt in from what I've heard. If I were you, I'd just fix the car and sell it, not much aftermarket at all for first gens, and they don't exactly look good either. That's my two cents.

it might be an si ... cause my friend has an 85 crx si and its carburated

it will be a bitch to get your d16a6 in there and wire it up to mpfi ... 1st gens can be good projects if they are fuel injected to begin with ... but most people dont want anything to do with the carburated ones.

Well, what if I find an Si with Fuel Injection and swap some of that over?

dont carburated cars not have ecu's? so you would have to wire that up as well ... believe me converting a carbuarted car to FI is a major pain in the ass, which is why more people dont work on 1st gen / 3rd gens

I know the a6 won't fit at all in the car....The mounts are totally different

But, you can always drop the DOHC d16xx from 88-89 Integra in that bad boy. That would be a cheap and neat little project.

Nice pick up though....IF IT'S FREE, ITS FOR ME!!!:thefinger

Dude, check the date on the last post before yours, this thread is a few months old. Bringing up the dead, is unwelcome. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.
