i just bought a 2002 Subaru WRX. i have been researching parts for it all week and i found tons of parts. i will be posting some polls on which WRX u guys like. there are to many options and i need help narrowing the parts down. This poll rite now is for exhaust. if u guys got any other exhausts u like then tell me bout em. i picked the Greddy EVO cuz i had it on my 99 Accord and liked it.

and this
this exhaust looks plain and simple, but don't get fooled, the weight on this is incrediable. Downpipe is full stainless steel and will not trigger CEL ( and remove both cats )
the catback weights less than 20lb in stainless steel, and the titanium verson only weights 10 lb.
for more info, go to www.godspeedinc.com

so i should go wit a godspeed downpipe and kakimoto exhaust. i was thinkin of Greddy EVO exhaust and Turbo XS downpipe. or my other option was to get a Turbo XS Super Stealth Turbo Back Exhaust with out a rear section exhaust and attach a BLitz Nur Spec Rear Section or Apexi N1 titanium rear section.

What about RS-R? I thought they were pretty good quality wise?

two of my friends have the HKS exhaust. very nice. gave them some hp and also sounds very nice. if one of them revs it near another car, the vibration will cause alarms to do that "beep beep" thing. also the quality is very nice. i would recommend it.

If Sport Compact Car rates Vishnu's as the best, I rate it as the best. They research the shit out of their purchases and are rarely wrong. When they're wrong, they let you know as well, and they claim nothing but great things about it. I've also talked to somebody who works at SCC and he says that it's worked spectacularly for them, fit great and sounds great.

I personally like the skunk 2. A few of my friends that can drive have them on their cars and they sound nice and they're just cool.

The Vishnu downpipe has a separate tube for the wastegate and turbo exhaust, which decreases backpressure substantially (instead of having to deal with a step-down right after the turbo)

http://www.vishnutuning.com/images/exhaustns.jpg

here's the full exhaust (the dual-tip version. They make a single-tip if you want it) with the single-dump downpipe.

Vishnu is the best commercially availible.. it is also legal.

I usually fabricate my own exhaust (with the exception of the 240)

my WRX will have a divorced downpipe like the visnhu, but will not terminate back into the exhuast. I'll have side exit, just before the rear passenger tire coming out of the sideskirt will be the 3" exhaust and a 1" waste-dump just infront of that...

This (http://www.vishnutuning.com/exhaust101.htm) is a great read. If you base your decision solely on what's said here, I suppose Vishnu's exhaust would come out #1... but it's on Vishnu's site. I take their word, as it's written by an employee at Garrett.

Unfortunately, Vishnu's exhaust being so wonderful, the signature exhaust (divorced wastegate pipe) is $1600.

3" straight through pipe between HKS downpipe and Blitz Nur spec rear section

Check this site out, testing has shown what you need to make an exhaust works, easy enough to get made where ever.

i was also thinkin of Buschur Racing 3" Turbo-Back Exhaust w/ there 3" Downpipe. im surprised no one voted for the Turbo XS turbo back exhaust. it seems like its very popular. alot of ppl have it on cardomain.com

It's $1600 for the whole exhaust assembly. The downpipe individually is $425.

I was thinkin of getting the HKS Hi-Power Exhaust system...only roughly somewhere between $500-$600
and i seen videos form the HKS site that has a WRX with it...it sounds pretty nice...and another thing i like about it is that the tip dosent look like a big-ass potatoe launcher or a coffie can!

go on fastwrx.com they got a bunch or videos and sounds clips on different WRX exhausts.

anyone know anything about greddy's evo or new evo2 exhaust?

F23A4Racer750IL
01-12-2004, 04:25 PM
the EVO2 is now full stainless steel. its looks like a good buy. greddy always make good products. i couldnt have been more happier wit the EVO when i had it on my 99 Honda Accord.

i see the EVO is a popular choice. im guessin because of its quietness. but ive had JIC Titanium for about a month now. and i love it, and its really light on a count of it bein titanium.

sfc0rnd0g

greddy says the evo2 is for 2.5rs from 98-01, but is there anything that would make it incompatible with my 04 ts? what is it, hanger locations?
also, how is your jic for sound? i want something quiet, which is why i'm looking at the greddys.

F23A4Racer750IL

greddy is very quiet. my jic isnt as quiet as greddy. and im not positive if it will fit.

if u arent afraid of having a louder exhaust, then you can go with Fujitsubo
their exhausts arent terribly loud, but it is definitely noticeable when driving by
but the thing with fujitsubo is that they only make exhaust systems and their exhausts are very highgrade and give awesome hp gains compared to almost every other company

F23A4Racer750IL
03-23-2004, 03:03 PM
yea straight up japanese companies like fujitsubo, ganador, gram light, and kakimoto are probaly loud.

the vishnu is very nice but if you want to save some money GPmoto has a TB for $750 and it comes with the cel fix

imho Kakimoto GT1.0Z is the best easily. Literally a single straight pipe from the bottom of the downpipe to the muffler with no resonator and almost zero bends to rob horsepower(just a gradual curve to get it over the axle). You need a JDM length downpipe for it to fit though. Best flowing/highest power gains out there. But because of this its also the loudest for the wrx by far... catback alone sounds like blitz nur spec with catless up and downpipes... its just too much for alot of people. you still hear it for a minute after the car drives away =^_^=

best exhaust for niceness of sound is cobb tuning and their new downpipe. Very smooth and mellow sounding medium-loud 3" exhaust. This is what i have...

turbo magazine did a sound and power test for different exhausts and greddy was the quiest but came third in overall power.

Does the HKS carbon TI come straight out the back of the WRX or is it at a slant? also has anyone heard the HKS Hi-Power exhaust?

F23A4Racer750IL
04-10-2004, 09:58 AM
it comes out of the rear on a slant. it looks really hot.

How about the blitz nur spec? Is it loud?
