Last night I was driving home, With my system cranked up.
Everytime I let off the gas the car kept driving for like 2 seconds.
So I turn down the tunes and hear my car reving on it's own.
I came upto a red light, came to a dead stop with the car in nuetral
and my foot on the clutch. The car started reving on it's own.
Scared the fuck outa me.
PLEASE can anyone help me out????
I need all these problems worked out for when I make the drive down to the states.
Thanks in advance

throttle cable could have shit in it, or ur springs might be loose, the ones that put pressure on it to return it to normal, mine did this, still does, tried fixin it but think its the springs now ot throttle cable 2 tight still

Yeah, sounds like the throttle cable is sticking on you, or the throttle itself...
What I would do is start the car, and pop the hood. Then pull on the throttle cable by the throttle-body and see if you can get the same thing to happen... If it does happen, since you'r not really using the cable, that would seem to me to indicate that it's the throttle body. If it doesn't happen, but you can get it to happen when you use the pedal, then I'd say it's the cable.
Hope that makes sense.

Mine has done that before too.. Like, it has a surging idle when you stop?
Check your vaccum lines.. My problem was the fast idle valve, but I'm not too sure if D series have that.

I really dont know if this will help but every single Honda I have had has done it. My 91 prelude did it when it was cold and my last 96 accord did it all the time.
I had it checked out on the accord by my mechanic and he said something about the idle control relays. I am not really for sure if the civics have the same engine componets but that is just my 2 cents.
I would be sittin at a light or stop sign and you would hear the motor rev back up to a little above 2 grand sometimes it would even hit up to like 3 grand. It would do this all the time not just when the car was cold.
Well I hope this helps.

TPS or a vacume leak

id say its either your TPS acting up or your idle speed adjust

Same thing happened to me, turned the idle screw down a bit, and it went away.
