I'm very pleased about how this turned out, this forum is really helping me to improve my modelling, window rubbers are something I've always messed up until this model. Yet again some pictures upload wierdly with sudden jumps in the picture like a computer game texture or something.

I've also tried doing welding burns on the exhaust system, any comments welcome.

right on dude....great model...what was your technique for doing the window trim, just tape and paint? The window trim is something i still have difficultly with.

That's the method that I used for the window trim, thanks Veyron!

I used less wide masking tape but that's because I only have narrow stuff. Press firmly into the grooves around the edge of the window rubber and then run along the groove with a scalpel. Peel off the bit you want to paint and then use quite thin coats allowing to dry in-between so you don't saturate the masking paper and cause leakages.

Hope that helps

Always great to see the good new 911.
Great work. I think you have done a much better work on this one.
The colour you’ve chose suits it nice and the metallic paint finish looks real uniform.

I thought painting metallic would be a nightmare but it's turned out well. I clear coated it with Tamiya Clear.

Seeing as everyone seems to like the colour it's "Halfords" "Vauxhall Steel Grey", I guess you can only get it here in UK.

I'm glad you noticed the "Automotive Forum Effect" Gainsbourg, I know sand out mould lines and I use a hell of a lot of masking tape whereas I used absolutely none before. I also used to hand paint a lot, I don't think I hand painted a thing on this model. I used pen for panel lines and I might have touched up the underside a bit with a brush but that's it!

Wow, the car is great!! You've got skills
But just to be a little picky, the rear right tire is in the wrong direction...Details, details....eheheh

Great work, the colour is excelent

It looks gorgeous, I love the colour of the body, but next time , you should try to make the chassis up to par with the exterior.

this is just a suggestion, but you could give the wheel nuts a bit of a wash or just detail them , and do the exhaust discoloration the Tamiya way, as they suggest on their site, go check it out!

Still 90 % perfect!

Well I'm in UK and I got it from halfords which I think is UK only. The colour is "Vauxhall Steel Grey", I don't think you have Vauxhall's in America either and you spell grey differently so you might be screwed .

Great model and love the colour, I used to have a 1:1 Nova in the exact same colour it was great, I agree with Bigfrit a black wash over the rims will bring out the detail.:bigthumb:
