Remote entry for Montero Sport??

Does anybody know if you can program more than two remotes for montero Sport 2002 entry system. When I try to program them when I get to the third one the two already programmed quit working. I have tried in the right sequence with same results. Is two the limit?

My information says that 2 is the limit, from 2000-03.
