my civic is having trouble starting, the self diagnostics says its the fuel injectors, but they are fine, if it doesnt start i can wait a few minutes and try again and it fires right up, i dunno what is wrong with it cause it starts when it wants to. if anyone has any ideas it would help?

it cranks over and all the instrument lights turn on, but it doesnt fire for some reason the fuel wont go to the spark plugs cause ther not wet or anything when it dont start but it will start when it wants to, usaully starts in the cold and sometimes it dont

It sounds like its either a cloged fuel filter or the fuel pump

the fuel filter is fine and fuel pump runs when u turn the ignitoin i think its one of the censors that control the injectors but dont no wich one, it could be the throttle position censor but they cant be replaced, and you cant buy em anywhere

My civic would occasionaly have a hard time starting if the first turn of the key failed. On succesive start attempts, the engine would crank its heart away but not start- there was no combustion at all, but a very strong turn over. This was very rare, and occured only a few times over 2 years. In its final few months, it became much worse, especially as it began to occur on my FIRST start attempt.
I suspected my fuel pump, and as per the maual, removed the fuel tank to test my pump directly, which was a ok. Fuck you Honda. It was just my relay. Lots of wasted effort.
What I realised about the relay is that sometimes one of the switches inside it wouldn't click, leaving the fuel pump without electricity.
Here's a link.

And another link that might help you. It has more info, as well as a how to for Main Relay replacement.

most likely the relay... on most hondas between 88 - 91 or so this is a common problem... i've had the problem in my car when i got it, my ex girl's 3G accord had it, my mom's 90 accord had it...

Ya, i have to agree, i think it is the main relay. My friend had the same problem with his CRX. He had to turn the key on until the oil light went off, then he would crank it over, and it would start. So you might want to try that until you can get it fixed.
