i'd stay away from the type r engine. If you wanna 1.8 motor then gsr would be your best choice. Or you can get b16 if you wanna go cheap. It seems like you have money for b-series so yeh thats why i'm suggesting a b-series motor and not d-series:smile:

A H22 is a good choice if you don't mind the extra weight in the front.

h22 is a good choice if you don't mind no ac as well, the only people i know of w/ h22 in the engine bay use them for race only.
i'de personally say go w/ a b18 motor if money is no object but if you need something to drop in fast and that will be fast get a zc, they are run about the same price as replacement engines from japan and cheeper than us rebuilt engines... loads cheeper.

screw you! :thefinger

whats wrong with the c5? ide say go for it if you can afford it.....just the other night at the races i seen a build c5 hatch run against a modded Grand National and spank it by 3 cars

if you wanna go cheap ide say ls...save some more money then turbo the bitch :bigthumb:

Well with the extra 1500 he can put that towards the gsr motor and be faster then a type r. I mean shit i got a c5 but thats the short block. Its called a "poor mans" type r.

You could have a boosted 1st gen B16 for the price of a C5.
They're a nice motor and I would love an ITR tranny, but I'm a firm believer that they're hugley overpriced because of the demand for people to have a "TypeARRG" motor. The coolness.

Pftttttt.. He's never experienced a blown B16A then. :p
All motor? 1st gen B16 - GSR block and bolt ons.. Quick, reliable, easy.

wats wrong with a type R motoR?? thats like the top of the line shiet in japan....i know theres not that much people with a type R motor in there car...the gsr motor and the type R motor are all most about the same price y do u guys think i should go with gsr motor instead of the type R motor??

it depends on how fast u wanna go. i mean with the type r youll probably be in the 13s, but right there is your wall. u cant get any faster unless you build the type r block but then there goes all the type r parts which u payed big money for, pointless. but with a gsr the skys the limit, 10 second 1/4 miles.

Really, you're asking this after we already answered your question?!
With a name like iVTEeC bOi I'm going to asssume that you need a Type-R motor for stunta points more than anything. Good luck finding one, they're the most sought after engine in Japan!
Lots of people have Type-R swaps.

actually i think the most favored b18 in japan is the c4.........which we dont get obviously

So is type r. Like you mentioned... all those type r parts are gonna come out so basically thats what u paid for. Thats why we're suggesting to get a gsr motor and later on get some aftermarket cams. I'd only get a type r motor if i'm not gonna do anything to it. Like i'm ever gonna keep stock:rolleyes:
