91 CRX Resale value?

I love my '91 CRX, but some un-forseen circumstances maye force me to sell her. I was wondering if a $2,000 price tag would be to far out of line...I believe it's fairly accurate. Could I get a few people's personal opinions? Here's all of the info I can drag up...

1991 CRX DX (160k miles)
5 speed transmission
PERFECT interior, looks brand new (except a couple small tears in the seats)
Exterior is 100% perfect...no rust, no dents. The hood has a few white spots from pebbles, that's the worst 'defect'.
Has brand new tires, new A/C, new axles, Clutch has about 5k miles till it will probably need replacing...I'd probably replace it before selling. Also has brand new rotors, pads, lines, calipers. Stock, not aftermarket. probably would come with a few extra A/C parts, and probably a drive shaft, too...
Mechanically, runs like a dream. Absolutely no problems.

I apologize if this seems like a very useless (and overused!) thread...but I believe that who better to ask about the resale value, then fellow CRX'ers! Hopefully, things will work out for me, and I will not have to sell my baby..but if I do..I'd just like to have some sort of ballpark figure to which I could sell er'. Thank you everyone....

That price ain't to much I'd put $2500 on it, always start high. 'cause they'll always try to talk you down. :bigthumb:

Well, see...my brother owned a 89 DX...which he said was in MUCH worse condition, as far as the body goes...and needed a lot of mechanical work. He sold that for $1,500...so he believes I could get $2,000 out of my rex..

By the way..I have a distributor from a 88-91 rex laying around...infact, I believe I have a cooling fan laying around somewhere too.

Sorry. Black Interior...and....well, why don't I just post a picture. The one small thing I've noticed (a friend actually pointed it out), is that the front steelie is different than the rear. Oh well. Here you go:

If do sell, I'm guessing I'll wait a few months though, I hope, at least.

yeah askin for 2500 is good, start there, that way if you get 2000$ you won't be dissapointed...

Shit, if you lived closer, I'd probably take it for $2,000 :bigthumb:

But Florida's a long way from Texas

If YOU lived closer I'd let it go for $2,000, probably...but there is a chance I might still be able to hold onto her. We'll see, I guess.

Well hopefully you'll be able to keep it, cause that'd be one sweet ride to lose.

It would. It has a lot of possibilities. Things are looking up for me so far, so I'm praying they stay that way. Thanks for your opinion and stuff...it helps. Either way, I know roughly, what someone would pay for my CRX. Thanks, again.

Im kind of wondering also if I were to sell my car (which im thinking of doing) how much I should put it up for. Here is what i have

1990 Honda Civic EX
130,000 miles on the body
about 35,000-40,000 on engine (SOHC ZC just put in 8/3/03)
17" TSW Revo's
2-new 205/40/17 Nankang tires up front
2-75% 205/40/17 Federal tires in the back
Lowered 2" with coilovers
AEM Cold Air Intake
2.5" custom Cat-Back exhaust system w/ Focuz 3.5" muffler
Sony Xplod cd player
2-12" Xplod 12" subs w/ aluminum cone (1200W max handling power) in a Q-logic Box
***Replaced within the past year***
cv boots/axles (9/02)
brakes, master cylinder (10/02)
clutch, flywheel (3/03)
distributor (5/03)

We are the original owner, interior is in great condition (no rips, tears, fade, etc.), exterior is 8 or 9 out of 10, has a small quarter sized dent on the hood and 2 golf ball width sized dents in passenger fender (kids throwing ice balls). I also have small other goodies on here like radar detector...6.5" pioneer speakers...strut tower bar. About how much u think I could ask?

I think a nice crx si with d16a would be worth $3,000 no rust and under 200k and maybe $4000-$5000 for a b16a or b18c CRX in good running condition. Id ask like $2500 for your dx at least if its clean

The the ZC, the rims, excellent exterior and interior, and fairly low miles on body (I have 166k on my CRX...which as I said, did NOT sell, and I am now getting back to modifying her!)..I'd probably go at LEAST $3-4k. I'm not two sure, because I haven't seen to many nice 88-91 4 doors for sale, like yours..so I'm not to sure where to start, but I think $4k would be a fair price..you could always start higher, since people will want to talk you down...as everyone here mentioned!

But, I must say that $5k isn't really that is in unreasonable, it's just that unfortunately, no one will pay a higher price for the sweat and blood you put into that car. If all of your hours of work on the car counted for a higher sales price, you could sell that baby for $5k+ easy. As I said, you can start high. If it doesn't sell, lower it a bit, and relist it.

And as Killa_CRX mentioned..."that'd be one sweet ride to lose" :)

BTW- Killa_CRX, I'm now in Missouri (moved back "home" here..), so it isn't THAT far from Texas..but I think I'll hold onto my baby for a bit!

I think like i said earlier i'll try 5K cuz the body is pretty clean and all and who knows...maybe some rich bitch who doesn't know jack about cars and has daddy pay for things will come along and wanna buy it, lol.

 Hate to burst your bubble but you're nuts. After a car is ten years old it doesn't matter the milage or how many goodies you have on it, at least not to the bank or a credit union. If you want a better idea of a reasonable price that someone will look to spend on the car check www.nada.com and get a price qoute. Anyone looking to buy your car isn't going to want to pay too much more than the high retail price nada posts. Sorry to burst your bubble. Oh and most "daddies" aren't flippin stupid and I doubt they'd be as gullable as that rich chick you're hoping for.:loser:

I dont know, there is a guy at my school who has like an 91 hatch dx with chrome rims and he just bought it about a month ago with only intake and exhaust for $4500. The reason he got it was because he thought the rims were cool and dad shelled out the money. Not tryin to diss on it but the car is so much shittier lookin than mine and has a worse body and all. Im not gonna sell my car for a while anyways, it was just an idea. Anythings possible...and welcome to the boards.

4500 is probably the most you can push it unless your car is the most fabulously trick out ricer ever  and you're looking to sell it to a ricer fanatic. Non the less, always ask for AT LEAST 500 more than what you would take for it, better safe than sorry. As for the dx boy :screwy: :loser:

Yeah the dx boy is a dumbass, plain and simple. He's the one that drives through the parking lot and revs his engine at everyone...and his exhaust doesn't sound good at all. And my car isn't the most fabulosly tricked out ricer at all, i hate riced out cars and refused to do that shit. Yeah i'll start high and work my way down. Realisticly if i got 4500 id be happy, but ill throw it in wheel deals and drop it 5% every 3 weeks so that i can keep it in there for free till it sells :iceslolan
