Passenger sliding door cable position sensor ?

I have an unusual situation with the passenger sliding door on my 2001 windstar. It will open with the motor fine but when you push the button to close it i hear a click and then the door motor pulls it back into the latch area in the direction of door open instead of sliding the door to the closed position. Is there a cable adjustment or position sensor adjustment on the cable or a microswitch that signals the motor to reverse direction to close the door ?

If your model is similar to my 1999, you will find the door closure sensors to be at the very "rear of the door opening". Those spring loaded switches at the front door edge are only for speakers door latch commands....they have little to do with the success of a good door closing.

The sliding doors finally wore me down, I ended up removing the cable and tractors, taping over the switch plates at the door fronts. Life has never been better, totally manual. I have yet to deal with the (missing) rear radio speakers.
