2002 Mercury Sable LS

The cadalytic converters were taken out of the car about a month ago. When I take off or sit an idle it acts like it's flooded ..I was told I need to completely reset the computer, could someone tell me how? Or if you have any other ideas what would be causing this please let me know! Thanks!
