90 Cai

Does this cai look like it would fit in my 90 lx? or would the battery be in the way?

LX had DPFI so the air chamber is a bit higher I think but I think you could make it fit fine. And 88-91 is easy to spot because it has like a wave to it to go around the battery. My intake is 92-95 Civic and it just goes straight through where the battery would be...

yea they work, id suggest you get one.

However don't expect to chirp 3rd gear with your DPFI, getting an intake for it won't really do much.

hahaha....i have an automatic..and sometimes when its hot outside, my tires will actually chirp going from 2nd to 3rd.

but yea im not expecting anything, just really doing it for looks and sounds.

Yeah I like the sound CAIs make. Mine makes a whistle and sucking sound that sounds like a Supercharger.

when i use the a/c in my car it does that.

My CAI doesn't really make any sound :(

Here is my CAI on a DPFI, and it is close to the battery, but does get by it...and I would also recommend a bypass valve..it goes in place of one of the blue joints in that pic...I have moved mine from this pic up to the throttle body, cuz things lined up better that way for me.

you should be able to find one of those on e-bay too...they vary in price...make sure you get one the same size as the intake tube, which if I remember is 2.5" - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2421872390&category=42604

and my buddys 5th gen sounded awesome when he had his short ram intake. he had it on the stock motor, now hes got it on his b16

becuae when you put on a cai you have to take off the rain guard, well it protects from any water getting into the fuel injector.

the bypass valve prevent water from entering the combustion chamber of the engine, damn near a must for all CAI ownerz.

thanks bro, how exactly does it prevent water from getting 2 the combustion chamber tho? does it just like shoot it outta the pipe when water get up there?

i have no idea how they work, ive never seen one in person, maybe someone with it can tell ya.

if i do sell this one, i found steering wheels for like 60 bucks at auto zone, so its no biggie
