Will it unlock manually (i.e., not using the power lock)?
My '00 doesn't have power sliding doors - but I have needed to replace the power lock actuator twice on my passenger side sliding door.
The door panel removes pretty easily; as I recall, there are only a hand full of screws to be removed to access the door internals. I'm not sure all of the screws are easily accessible with the door closed. The actuator is readily available for reasonable money, and isn't terribly difficult to replace.

phil-l no it won't unlock manually. Can you run me thru the steps of replacing the lock actuator? It would be greatly appreciated.

I replaced the lock actuator on one of the sliding doors. It's just a couple of screws and then the panel pulls right off. Really, the problem is that there's a spot where the linkage comes into contact and corrodes slightly and gets bound up. A shot of lithium grease gets it moving again. If you pull the panel, you'll see it if you look for it. That's probably all you need.
