I have a 2000 Impala with the 3.8 motor and was wondering if I could disable the Traction Control on my car. I have seen the light come on when I take off from a standing stop. what could be causing this I have replaced one wheel bearing already because of the ABS sensor wires breaking off inside the hub. I don't get a TC and ABS light just the Traction Control. Maybe a swift belt with a 8lb sledge??? :runaround:

If one wheel spins slightly on hard accel, the tc will engage and the lite comes on momentarily, normal.

All well and fine but I still want to learn how to completely disable the Traction Control if possible.

I have seen a switch that works opposite of the OEM traction control switch, so when you start the car it automatically turns off the traction control. So if you want to turn on the traction control you have to press the switch. The switch looks the same and fits in the same space on the dash. Try going to NAIOA and search their forum ...or ask. Also try places the "W body store".
