The engine cranks and starts without a hitch when it's cold. However, following a quick run to the local grocery store, come back out and attempts to start fails. The engine cranks but won't start. Wait then about 20 to 40 minutes and it starts without a problem. It may even be that the warmer the ambient temperature, the longer the wait before the car can be successfully restarted.
Does this sound like some type of fuel pressure issue (i.e. fuel pump, fuel injection pressure regulator)? BTW, the battery voltage measures 12.5 cold and the alternator is producing 14.65 after starting. The fuel filter was replaced about 7 months ago and the car has about 93,000 miles.
Thanks.

If you can borrow/rent a FP gauge, that might be informative.

Pull the vac line off the f/p regulator, and check for gas in the vac line....
Also try starting the car with the MAF sensor disconnected....
Check for codes?
Check for fuel pressure, spark, and injector pulse....
