Jet Stage 1 Chip?

Sorry guys but an 06 Impala 3.5l is all I have to work with. I want a little more performance and as you know, there aren't many upgrades. I can't afford an exhaust so I was thinking about dropping in a K&N and a Jet stage one chip. Has anyone done or have an opinion on these upgrades? Thanks
