Ok. A 02 Chevy impala came to me with a blown intake gasket. After getting pass the upper intake and exposing the bolts on the lower intake I found that most of the bolts were not tighten properly...saying this because yes some one had been in it recently. Upon removal of the lower I found the gasket was indeed new but was installed incorrect and broken along the bottom of it. Ok....fast forward.....everything is back together and with 2 engine flushes with new filters on each flush. Now of course the engine starts but runs rough until everything is back to normal. Here's the problem...it ran fine for about an half hour until I found the water pump leaking. I shut it off and went to purchased a water pump. Installed the water pump and top off the coolant. Now....it cranks but no start. With my scan tool I have a crank signal. If have good fuel pressure. I can spray in it and it'll run but it will not run with out the spray. I the drained the battery pretty good while testing the electrical components so I took it to my work the next morning to charge it. I installed the battery back into the the car...gave the key a good turn and what the hell it starts....I let it run for maybe 5 minutes and then shut it off to see if it would start again.......it won't start......any ideas....

This could have been a problem with the vehicle before you got it......

If you have good fuel pressure, and it only runs with carb cleaner being sprayed, that means the injectors are not firing...if they are not, it sounds like a Security problem......is this a PassLock system or a PassKey system?
