Why is Skyline so special

I'd give the skyline some respect if it wasn't so heavy, and so weak, stock.
It's about on par with an S4, pretty quick, but not all that fast. Of course, if you're willing to drop thousands into it, it'll be really powerful. But ya know, if I did the same sort of mods with a Ford 4.6 DOHC engine, it's smoke the skyline all day long. Why? Nearly twice as much displacement. Displacement = Torque. Torque + RPM = HP. More displacement with same RPM, more power.
Think I can't get a 4.6 DOHC engine to spin as fast as a Skyline engine? Why not :evillol:
So teh argument that the Skyline is so special because it's so tuneable isn't really that solid, considering any car is tuneable, should you decide to throw thousands of dollars into it. I had a build worked out for a SOHC Mitsubishi V6 from a FWD Chrysler Lebaron to be putting down 600hp, and similar torque. It was worked out, from the short block, the turbos, the engine management, the head work, etc.
The Skyline doesn't really impress me.

So heavy, 3300lbs, is not that heavy. Hell the R32s come in at 3200. They are not that heavy.
So weak, I know of only one thing that is weak on the car. Thats an easy fix.
I love how you through STOCK in there, thats damn funny.

The Skyline doesn't really impress me. Why should they impress you? You know nothing about them. You have never driven one, probably never seen one.
If you are going to give your opinion, at least know what you are talking about, it might help you get your point across.

Skyline_USA there is no point in arguing, and this thread has run it's course. 99% of the people that will reply such as Cbass haven't got a clue. They are trying to base conjecture via miss information and assumptions, while throwing the odd bit of techno jarggon of which half can again be picked appart.
It would be no different than a thread on the C6 Vette, or Viper. both of which can be picked apart quite easily, more so in fact. The Porsche has to be the best to pick appart with its heavy unbalanced and way out dated looks with the exception being the GT2 and GT3 series.
