Hi,

I have a 90 LX with the DPFI D15 engine.
I am going to swap a 90 CRX SI D16 engine into it.
Will I need a SI ECU or can I still use my LX ECU and just use FourthGenHatch's HOW TO INSTALL MPFI http://www.fourthgenhatch.com/mpfi.html

When reading it I read how it said if engine is out of car just swap DX harness over to SI?

What does it mean when you solder and heatshrink over to plug side and harness side?

Thanks

Oh when it says switch your DX engine harness over to the SI engine it means to take out the SI engine wire harness and replace it correct?
So i wont need to do any wire extending. Just wire up the 4 wires that come from my ECU correct?

yes i'm almost positive you need an si ecu or at least an ex ecu i would need one if i just put on mpfi onto my dx engine. your dx ecu just won't controll the multipoint fuel injection.

Take off the DX engine harness and put it on the Si/ZC means unplug all the plugs and wires off of the DX engine (same as LX engine by the way) and plug them onto the sensors and stuff onto the Si/ZC engine.

I'm not sure if you have to extend wires from going from DX > Si since they are SOHCs, but from DX > DOHC ZC I know I had to.

Plug side and harness side had do do when you cut a wire in half, the half of the wire stuck into the plug is the plug side, the half of the wire that goes to all the other bunch of wires is the harness side. I'm going to get a picture later on to better explain that.

And you do need new MPFI ECUs, it says that in my How-To.
